A little Pearl

The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was started by John Champlin and his son Tint in 1882. It was first incorporated under the name J.B.F. Champlin and Son as a wholesale distribution company based in Little Valley, New York. The business proved to be a successful endeavor, and it soon branched into a knife production company named Cattaraugus.

Very neat. I have not seen a pearl spring cover before. I'm sure it is a rare knife.

I love that knife Joe! Here are 3 I have now that are the same pattern. I had a pearl also but like a jerk sold it. It had an etch but not Cattaraugus. They are really sweet knives with the covered spring. The Christmas tree type handled one Derek gave me for Christmas this year! ::ds::

Beauties all! Joe that’s the first pearl covered spring I’ve seen. Cattaraugus made some of the finest knives on the planet. ::nod::
