Cattaraugus - Need info please

The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was started by John Champlin and his son Tint in 1882. It was first incorporated under the name J.B.F. Champlin and Son as a wholesale distribution company based in Little Valley, New York. The business proved to be a successful endeavor, and it soon branched into a knife production company named Cattaraugus.

Cattaraugus - Need info please

Post by Rotten »

I am thinking of selling this one and would like a valuation please. Cattaraugus 22273, it's hard to see in the picture but I am 95% confident the last number in the pattern is a 3. It has definitely been cleaned but the bone is in my opinion excellent.
I have no idea what value might be so any help would be appreciated.

Neglected to mention it has excellent walk and talk, smooth and loud. Little bit of wobble but not excessive.

Hey Rotten, Nice looking knife Sir. The small blade should have been stamped also,,,Probably been buffed off.
Here are the catalog pics of the knife to help you sell it, It is a c1930s Era knife & pattern# is 22279. As per value it varies a lot on antique knives. If you list on ebay, it should likely do anywhere from 50-150. I wish you the best Sir
Kindest Regards,
Mark
