Same song, but as a duet later in his life with Willie Nelson. It’s good too.

Is there anyonecWillie hasn’t sung a duet with? I fixed it for you. So many different artists have done that song but nobody does it better than Webb Pierce. I posted another cover of this great song several pages back in this thread, by a black artist named Ted Hawkins. viewtopic.php?f=117&t=20513&p=599534&hi ... ns#p599513

Re: Some Of My Favorite Country & Bluegrass Songs
I was watching Ken Burns documentary on country music (I highly recommend it btw) and they were talking about all the bus tours that went by and to the homes of the country music stars around Nashville. One of the big attractions was Web Pierce’s blue guitar shaped swimming pool in his front yard.
It was so popular that Web bought some mason jars and started selling a jar of his pool water for $1 a piece. And people scooped them up. lol!

There is a picture of that pool included in the YouTube video about halfway through it.
I noticed the Ted Hawkins YouTube link I posted a while back is no longer working. Here’s another link for anyone interested. Ted Hawkins (R.I.P.) was quite an interesting, and very talented character.

And a bonus!

Re: Some Of My Favorite Country & Bluegrass Songs
Just heard we lost Jerry Jeff Walker to cancer yesterday. I’ve drank many a beer listening to him, saw him open for Willie at a concert in San Diego years ago. He’s had some great hit songs but here’s my favorite (which was not a hit). It’s about a cowboy who gave up monetary riches for some finer things in life.

The latest from one of my favorite artists. Gotta love the opening line “I can see you’re a woman of taste by your Reba McEntire tattoo.”

A little something from one of my neighbors, Kevin Deal. He wrote it, that’s him singing it. I guess you could classify it as bluegrass gospel.

JerryD: Thanks for the comeback. Paycheck knocked that one out of the park! And the acoustic guitar behind Hazel is so clean and tasteful.

Dang Ken,
I've learned lots bout tech stuff, but that just proves I don't know squat about tech stuff.
I managed to figure out the correct way to attach videos while back; but then turned around, and completely forgot how too.
Dang brain fog!
