New pick up

Winchester entered the knife market as a manufacturer in 1919 by acquiring two existing knife companies; Eagle Knife Co. of Connecticut & Napanoch Knife Co. of New York. Winchester stepped away from the market in 1942 to focus on war related manufactured products, but re-entered in the late 1980s by licensing its name to Blue Grass Cutlery. Blue Grass had high quality knives made by Queen Cutlery that featured the Winchester brand name for a handful of years until the license arrangement ran its course. Winchester eventually started licensing to other companies & now you will find the brand name used by several knife manufacturers by way of license agreements.

Drukai,
Kinda' ragged but still mighty nice! ::tu::
Those handles always get my attention, my Maternal Grandmother carried some sort of knife of that color pattern in her purse when I was a little boy. I got to look but she didn't let me handle her knife. I must have been 6 or 7 years old at the time. It might have been a Winchester. ::hmm::

Drukai, I agree with you about that blade. I have seen a ton of knives lately on eBay that
I may have bid on but a broken blade would just bother me too much.

(I have not gotten to the point of doing blade replacement (yet) :D )

I would sharpen that blade into a short spey blade and use that knife!

I think I will just grind it out to a Spey or punch blade and carry it, blades have great walk n talk!

Re-profiled into a Spey gets my vote, cool old knife.
