Show off your Winchester Knives

Winchester entered the knife market as a manufacturer in 1919 by acquiring two existing knife companies; Eagle Knife Co. of Connecticut & Napanoch Knife Co. of New York. Winchester stepped away from the market in 1942 to focus on war related manufactured products, but re-entered in the late 1980s by licensing its name to Blue Grass Cutlery. Blue Grass had high quality knives made by Queen Cutlery that featured the Winchester brand name for a handful of years until the license arrangement ran its course. Winchester eventually started licensing to other companies & now you will find the brand name used by several knife manufacturers by way of license agreements.

Mailman brought me this Winchester Candy Stripe stockman today. I like it. No number on the tang, must have worn off.

Very neat pattern! Kinda like the current GEC Stockyard Whittler, in that you've got a Stockman Punch configuration set up like a Whittler.

I called it a Stockman but maybe it is a Whittler.

I purchased this particular pocket knife to use in a display along with a couple of other WINCHESTER cutlery items. Well, the other two items that I purchased and received were NOT the items that were pictured and described by the seller. The seller apologized and offered to make things right ($ refund). I decided to keep the two wrong items, but they didn't apply to this particular pocket knife. So my display idea went straight down the toilet. I'm not a huge fan of this particular pattern, but I decided to keep this pocket knife, at least for now. It's a 1997 WINCHESTER, pattern #20112, 2 blade, W.R.A.CO. 45-70 shield, sunfish - toenail pocket knife. I gave it a minor cleaning, took some pictures and here it is.

So I don't own any good Winchester knives but I have a question for any of you that know more than me . Who manufacturers the new nice Winchester knives ? like the 2020 and 2021 knives you can find on Cutlery corner . they don't look like the Wal-Mart ones and some have high end handle materials like mammoth ivory .

Nice color to that one. Definitely brighten up a knife roll or box. I like it.
