Gerber pocket Cleaver

One of my fellow deacons at church handed me this Gerber today and asked if I could sharpen it for him. It has some tough steel, I can tell you that! I had to break out the diamond stones for this one.

It was already what I refer to as "working sharp", so I assumed that he wanted it "shaving sharp". It has been a while since I put a shaving edge freehand, but I took my time with it, and am happy with the results.
That is one handful of knife, though!

China. Gerber makes several different versions. I believe this one is called a "Flatiron".
