Re: Case & Case related knives over 100 years old
Jim Sargent s books are very good references. Jim has told me for several years now that he is not writing another book. I am just glad that he can still go to the shows with the rest if us. We enjoy having him there. Tom[/quote] I agree with you Tom and thanks for your observation regarding Jim Sar...

Re: Case Rough black collection 5/4/17
Great line up Zach. The rough black period has always been rather fascinating to me. I have always felt that there was a close correlation between rough black handled knives and the changing of tang stamps from tested xx to xx, though as far as I have seen no one knows exactly when that occurred. Th...

My opinion is that the knife has been crudely re-pinned (the blade), but is correct otherwise.

I'm looking at the stamp on my phone. Usually I prefer to look at it on my lap top. No need for that here. Fake!!BBley wrote:http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/aWYAAOSws ... -l1600.jpg

It was very nice seeing and talking to all the AAPKers there and I had a real good time meeting Phil and Monte for the first time. My goodness in that last picture I think Phil caught me napping. A little less Evan Williams the nite before next time

I have a 6223 handled in a pretty green bone, with the Case's Bradford stamping. The OP knife is a train wreck though.
