Old Imperial Tang Stamps

Hello all. Been a long time since I've been around. Nice to see a lot of names I recognize.

Here's my question. I know I had a pic of all the Imperial tang stamps that I got from some one round here, but I can't find it. Anybody able to help me out? Trying to date an old Kamp King.
Thanks

The already mentioned Byrd line is probably the best knife for the dollar coming out of China. I have a couple and they are very nice knives. I also have some Rough Riders & they are okay quality, but I will probably will not buy any more. Dewman- I would like to say that you may be taking some ...

Thanks for the tips guys. I have started my handles and will try and keep photos coming as I go. I started by using the stock scales as a template to trace onto the micarta slab. Using a reinforced cutting wheel I cut out the rough shape for the handles. Next I used a sanding drum on the dremel to s...

Micarta help

I have plans to put some Micarta scales on a Schrade SQ587 XTAC. Does any one have some tips for working with Micarta? I was planning on cutting with a Dremel tool and a cutting wheel. Shaping with a file & a sanding drum, and then working down with wet/dry sandpaper. I have read that it can be ...

Hello Cloudy. I have one of those as well. Apparently they were a special edition from 1975 which came in a presentation wooden case. I do not have the box, but I do have a picture of it I found somewhere. If you double click the picture you should be able to read the story of the longhorn that acco...

I will second Muskrat Man in saying they are my favorites. Yes, most Old Timers were carbon steel rather than stainless although there are some exceptions. Are they more than a work knife? Well they may have been most often carried as a work knife, but Schrade made some beautiful collectible knives ...

From my understanding the Magnum line and the Bonsai line are made in China. The Boker plus line is made in Taiwan or the USA. The traditional Boker knives are made in Germany or Argentina. I have emailed Boker asking about the origin of specific models and they reply promptly.

Kissing Crane Knives

Does anyone have any kissing crane knives? I am thinking that the newer ones look like they may be made by Boker as the patterns are very similar. If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it.

I am 100% positive that Bear makes the Keen Kutter knives as they are in their 2007 product catalog. I am pretty sure that they also make the Schrade Walden & Hammer lines as well. I have a S-W peanut by them and its a decent knife for the price. I feel that supporting the company supports the A...

NOS= New Old Stock In case you were not aware USA Schrade went out of business in 2004. If you look around on ebay you can still find NOS knives at resonable prices. I would avoid the newer productions "Schrades" which are made in China for the new owner of the Schrade name. These new kniv...
