Re: Wood carving projects

Only in my 4th decade, but have seen clips of the show. My boys like to remind me how much I like “old man stuff” like carving, old knives and tractors lol.

Re: Wood carving projects

Thanks! Right now I’m using a OCCT carving knife or a Helvi blade in a custom handle. I have some modified kitchen knives also , just depends what I have at hand or what I’m carving (eyes, nose, or roughing out).

Excellent C-wade ... appreciate the shout out you gave ... That Cobratec is VERY NICE! ::tu:: ::handshake:: They were super nice people. I like the cobratec, decides to save the extra $40 and get the horn over the stag. It will need a little breaking in to get a bit smoother but still works well. T...

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............

Not so much a mail call, but did pick these up today at Blad Show Texas. Good show for customs , factory built and handle, and makers materials but virtually no old knives to see. I met the people from Rosecraft Blades, super friendly and helpful, gave the a shout from Corn Creek Cutlery while there...

Re: Case tested dr knife

As Ken mentioned, that pull going into the tang stamp area is a red flag for me. I don't think any knife companies/makers were that sloppy. I was just listening to the Catchbit pod cast yesterday and they were discussing long pulls going into the tang on some German made knives. I’m NOT saying Case...

Re: Blade Show Texas 2024

Case v42, I enjoyed it last year, it was my first time to go, a bit overwhelming initially. I kind of know now how I want to approach it and that will help. There is a show in Norman Oklahoma the following month I will try to hit too, I’ll post a flyer when it gets closer. It’s more of a knife maker...

Blade Show Texas 2024

Anybody going to Blade Show Tx this year? My buddy and I plan to go have a look around. I didn’t see many old knives at all last year and the custom ones are out of may range, but I did get to need Walt from Latama and see a couple cool new Reate knives. After words we also had some darn fine bbq at...
