My Kershaw Highball. It's too bad they've discontinued this model.

I have had awesome luck on Bladehq.com. ::tu::
Me, too! I've bought a lot of knives on sale from Bladehq, and some higher end ones. I've always been happy.

Re: Caught A Piranha

It's interesting that the company seems to do NO marketing. They just put out product.

I guess it works as a business model if a company finds its niche.

Correct. I'm going to buy one of their OTFs as soon as I can afford it. They are pricey.

Re: Caught A Piranha

The knife has kind of a "low rent" charm. The piranha trademark looks like the owner's 12 year old grandkid designed it. The grip is light and simple aluminum. The blade has no trademark or steel type identifiers on it. Still, it's razor sharp and snaps open with speed and authority. Absol...

Caught A Piranha

This is an interesting catch. It's a Piranha Pocket Tactical. The handle is aircraft grade aluminum. The blade is 3.2" and made of 154cm steel. And the blade is razor sharp out of the box, sharper than any other knife I own. 20230324_203041.jpg It's very light and the grip is excellent. They do...

Yep! That's why I like it! It seems to strike the right balance between toughness, edge retention and ease of sharpening.

Re: Schrade Upping Their Game?

I wouldnt be too surprised to see stuff coming home for manufacture as things deteriorate re China relations. America is slowly awakening to reality. China desires to bury us. Further support of the CCP is not in the worlds best interest. But it will cost more for sure. I own knives from all over t...

Schrade Upping Their Game?

I was looking over their web site. Looks like Schrade is starting to produce higher end knives, some made in America.

That's a good thing, yes?

The blade is made of "Cryo" D2. I love D2 steel, but I don't know to what extent "cryo" is just marketing.

Off Grid Tracker-2

I like it! 20230306_200258.jpg I was looking for a good fixed blade knife. I have a Schrade SCHF36 Frontier. It's OK, but it has a really thick (and unnecessary IMO) black oxide powder coating. I've never owned an Off Grid, but I love the weight and the balance. Arrived razor sharp. Anyone else own ...

Re: What's Your Favorite Knife Steel?

I'm a carbon steelhead, have some old knives from the 1920s-1970s with old carbon steel and I like that the best. So easy to sharpen, takes great patina with good colors and it feels great to grab. Just have to get a good edge, then strop periodically too. I rarely hit the stones and sharpen. I jus...

I've been reading up on it a bit, and it seems the best advice is to never use anything coarser on pocket knives than a 600 grit belt.

Re: Question About my Work Sharp

Hi, everyone. Sorry for what might sound like a rookie question, but I was wondering about the belts on my Work Sharp. I recently ordered a new set of belts off Ebay that fit my Work Sharp. There are three colors-- blue, green and white. The blue is coarse, the green is medium and the white is fine...
