LionSteel Replacement Scales

This is a first effort at figuring out a quick and dirty way to make some replacement scales for my LionSteel Shufflers. I suppose it can be considered a "proof of concept". A bit crude, but it's an initial attempt. I'm planning to round up the materials I need to make a nice pair (correct...

Re: LionSteel torx screws

My "proof of concept". These are fairly crude, being constructed of things I found lying around, but an interesting way to while away a rainy afternoon. And in Pittsburgh we have a lot of those.

Re: LionSteel torx screws

OK. Third time's the charm. I (accidently) hit the correct size. They are M2 304 4mm and 5mm. (At least that's what fits my Shufflers -- but don't take it as gospel.) The scales use pan head, and the bolster is flat head. I'm putting flat heads on the scales I'm making because they look nicer. I'm p...

LionSteel torx screws

I'm making some replacement scale covers for my LionSteel Shufflers (if you want replacement scales you have to make your own). Does anyone know what size torx screws those folks use? They evidently don't sell replacement screws either. Using my metric calibrator, the closest I can get in length is ...

Re: K'roo

Muskrat Man did the scales and a young Connecticut man whose day job is aerospace welder engraved the bolster. By the way -- why is it so hard to find people who can, or will, engrave knives?

K'roo

A few months ago I posted this message: "I have a K'roo Barlow with sneezewood scales. One of the scales cracked. I asked for help in finding someone to replace the scales. And I've already found someone. So, thanks to those who responded. When the repaired knife is returned I'll post a picture...

Re: Lionsteel replacement scales - does such a thing exist?

Here are a couple I bought new. The one on the bottom has nodes over the ends of the pins. Fitting a scale over those would require hollowing out a space for the pin ends to fit into. No precision work required. Someone, presumably at the factory, took the other approach and just burred those nodes ...

Re: Lionsteel replacement scales - does such a thing exist?

Here are a Shuffler Clip Jack and the 125 Euro shells to replace the scales on the Clip Jack. Only one place carries those custom shells -- Tools for Gents. Since a good idea is a terrible thing to waste, the new Shuffler Slim Barlow has scales that look suspiciously like the custom scales sold by T...

Lionsteel replacement scales - does such a thing exist?

I'm sure this question has been asked many times, but why are there no replacement scales for the Lionsteel Shuffler Clip Jack -- (other than those from Tools for Gents at 100 Euros)? And, since they appear easy to make, why isn't someone making them (not me -- rather a person who has some skill)?

Re: Searching for a craftsman to replace pocketknife scales

It's already been mailed off to have the scales replaced, but good idea -- I'll ask the old scales to be returned to me and send them along to the maker so he can take a look. Thanks.

Re: Searching for a craftsman to replace pocketknife scales

Maybe, but I've had the bolster engraved since this picture was taken. Plus, I'm not too fond of the sneeze wood. So, I'm going to end up with a customized custom knife.

Here's the K'roo. Nice knife, but I plan to replace the wood with jigged bone.

Searching for a craftsman to replace K'roo pocketknife scales was successful

Hi all, I have a K'roo Barlow with sneeze wood scales. One of the scales cracked. I posted a request for help in finding someone to replace the scales. And I've already found someone. So, thanks to those who responded. I'm new to the site and not sure how to end the string, but I'll shut down for no...
