62024?

Hey y'all. I haven't posted in a while, hope everyone is doing good. This maybe a short conversation but was hoping to get some info. Just got this knife and was expecting a 6202 1/2 but it is not. It measures 3 inches so I'm thinking 62024; however, the pattern number is not stamped on any blade. I...

Re: Anyone Collect Axes & Hatchets?

Couple more pics highlighting my not so good axe handling I have 25-30 American axes with the original hafts in them dating back to about 1910. The trend toward having an inch or so of the haft sticking up proud, just seemed to me to be a lazy persons way of doing a half way job. That way it could ...

Re: Anyone Collect Axes & Hatchets?

Put a handle on one of them but dont think I did a very good job...I think maybe I should have cut that ridge down some so maybe the head would come on down further. The handle may not have been a good choice to start with...didnt come close to filling the eye and since I didnt shave those shoulders...

Re: Anyone Collect Axes & Hatchets?

I have no clue....maybe some experts here might have an opinion

The house I tore down in order to build mine was probably built in the early to mid 1800s but people lived there up until the late 70s ::shrug::

Re: Anyone Collect Axes & Hatchets?

These both came out of the dirt on my property....soaked in vinegar to get the rust but man they are pitted. Can't find any maker's marks anywhere. I think I see a #5 on one of them but not clear. About to put handles in them and use them.

Re: Case xx 6269 shield

Thanks guys. I'm probably going to leave it as is although I do have a XX era 62109/baby copperhead with broken blades that has a good shield that might fit. But it has good scales and everything so dont want to mess with it either. Not sure you can see in the pics I posted of the 69 earlier, but th...

Case xx 6269 shield

Picked this up at a local antique store today. I don't have many case xx examples and until this, no 6269 in my knife pile. The bone color and jigging look right, the blades look right to me. The few I have seem to have a more bold looking tang stamp but not sure about that. I did have concerns abou...

Re: 61051 1/2 L Pattern. An old favorite of mine..

I had one of the CASE single blade lockbacks, stainless with the metal handle. It was a Christmas present back in the mid 80’s from my parents when I was a kid. I carried that thing for tears and loved it. Several years ago I was tying something in my pickup truck bed in the Walmart parking lot in ...

Re: 61051 1/2 L Pattern. An old favorite of mine..

Great light knife. I think I have a couple left. Gifted an aluminum handled M1051 L SSP to a friend for his birth year and job type. Referred to as the "Trail packer" due to light weight as I recall. Also called a Hornet. There are also some wood versions mistamped that I would have to lo...

Doesn't mean a whole lot that I have not seen this variation of a 99....if it's real I apologize for suggesting otherwise. Just wanted others opinion.

Even if it is real, not within my budget

Ps....I think it is perty cool looking anyway
