Re: Help me find information about this knife, possibly European?

The bottom line looks like it could be "FEINSTAHL",German for "fine steel", but I'm rarely right on anything. ::shrug:: J.O'.

Valor is/was a wholesaler/importer of knives from Japan, Germany, and Pakistan. Just wondering. I think their older Japan stuff is good. Good luck with it. Like Marco said, "two bones". ::tu:: ::tu:: J.O'.

Re: Mystery Knife Game

I've had a bunch of Kent knives over the years. I don't know of any other shields than this one, but ??????? My naked eye thought it saw coining on the liners. Closer inspection says no, only the "crinkled" center scale. Still cool. It's odd we don't see more of them. Woolworth's had almos...

Re: Mystery Knife Game

Whamo! KENT, N.Y.C. by Camillus. Woolworth brand. They had 596 stores worldwide, and the tallest skyscraper in the world from 1913-1930. They are still in business in other countries and own the "Foot Locker" stores here. I purposely flipped it over to hide the KENT shield. This knife has ...

Re: American version of the Wostenholm Stag Handle Rope Knife?

Could it be: KA-BAR, Olean, N.Y.. I think I see an R above the Y. I don't think its stag. It looks like plastic from the shrinkage shown in your picture. ????Good luck with it. J.O'.

Re: Mystery Knife Game

I would have bet a thousand bucks Sears/Craftsman would have been the next guess. NOT Craftsman. These knives were very popular because the seller had hundreds of stores, worldwide. They were not expensive but of good quality. J.O'.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY

Tony, I think it's a medium quality German item from the 50's. I don't think it's ever been thrown or maybe just ta a cardboard box. There's not a scratch on it anywhere, just some "age spots". I bought it "just because" ::shrug:: I like it.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY

I found this pair today in Millsboro, DE: An EDGE BRAND (Gutmann), "BULL'S EYE",#418 "Professional Throwing Knife" 9-5/8" long, leather stacked handle, with a really nice sheath with a cool keeper tab for the pommel. Also a "Sabre" (Japan) copy of a Camillus "...

Re: Help to identify my Grandpa's pocket knife

My guess would be the sixties and on. It looks like a Japanese multi-blade camp knife. . The bone jigging is like that of the "Sabre" brand of Japanese-made knives from Cole National a U.S. wholesaler/import firm from Cleveland that imported knives from Japan, Germany, and Ireland. Here's ...

"There's cowboys, drunks, and Christians, mostly white, and black and blue.
They've all dialed the phone collect to home from 16th Avenue." -Tom Schuyler "16th Avenue".

Can't imagine any voice but Lacy J. Dalton's singing this one. Her masterpiece.

Anyway,Lyle, it does look like LFC's rough black, but it's not. It has a shield on the pile side but that would give it away.
