Re: 3 blade whittler
If your knife is 3 1/2" closed I'd say it's a K3698 3/4. Are there any numbers stamped on the back of the main blade, visible like this photo? 1905-1938, I guess that would be Walden or Winchester made. ::welcome:: to AAPK! John Hmm it looks 3 3/8” to me but granted I’m only using a ruler as I...

3 blade whittler
Very new to this community as I have just been working through these pocket knives that were recently passed down to me from my grandma. They all apparently belonged to her dad and this one is one of my favorites. 3blade whittler 3 3/8”. EC Simmons tang stamp, so pre 1940. Scales and blades are in p...

Few more knives I need help dating
Hello again all! Posted a few knives from my great grandpa’s collection recently and got some great responses so thought I’d give it another shot with a new knife and a I didn’t get an exact range on for a second opinion. The first one is a Keen Kutter. The tang stamp reads the following in what loo...

Re: Help ID my great grandfathers knives
The Keen Kutter is a swell centre whittler with bone handles. It was made for the EC Simmons Hardware Co. prior to 1940. If it is 3 1/2", it could possibly be a K3698 3/4, which was made between 1905 and 1938. Depending on age, it was likely made by either Walden or Winchester. I’m at work now...

Re: Help ID my great grandfathers knives
The Wostenholm has ivory handles and likely is older than 1891 when most knives began being marked with country of manufacture. The Schrade Cut Co jack is from early 1900's to 1946. Likely to be closer to the 1946 end of this time span. kj I’m starting to feel a bit greedy now but do you have any i...

Re: Help ID my great grandfathers knives
I’d really like to know the handle materials and a more exact date for some of them. Specifically, I have no idea when the Wostenholm, Keen Kutter and Shrade were made.kootenay joe wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 3:32 pm You have these knives ID'd correctly. What is it you are hoping to find out ?

Re: Grandma just gave meh great grandfather’s pocket knife collection
Wow you guys are quick! Thank you, the H&B was confusing the heck out of me because I couldn’t find any others where they kept the H & B. This might be the oldest knife in the collection then.
