Re: Camillus Knife Year & Pattern Name/Number

Believe you have a jr. cattle knife if it’s 3 and 3/8 long closed. The 1967 catalog shows a number 75 with a clip main .sheepfoot and pen secondaries. Hi JP! It seems to me that this is more like the military Air Corps knife (pattern 14, 3-5/8" closed) that Camillus made during WW2 and later. ...

Re: What is Your Latest Old Camillus? (pre-1960)

Couple decent early Camillus jacks, a 3 line with arched pen easy open jack and a nice bare end 4 line jack, this knife with hammered pins and early bone is an example of why I don't believe the tang stamp charts for 4 line knives. John, those are 2 great knives . Again you have came up with some o...

Re: My Ho-Made Knife Display Case

Just finished up this project. I got tired of digging through cigar boxes to look at my knives, so I made this display to mount on the wall. It's cherry wood. Clear finish. No stain. I like cherry; it should darken with age. That is some excellent craftsmanship there in that cabinet . Really like t...

Most all of the Kabar 1148's I've seen had plain handles. On the few I've seen with the TL-29 stamps the letters and numbers were larger and closer together. I think it's very possible someone banged those in but I could be wrong. Normally it's a single stamp so everything should be more aligned. E...
