Re: Scrimshaw artist MW?

I think I may have solved the mystery of who the scrimshander MW is. Going through & updating pictures of some stuff, I was doing belt buckles & noticed the name on this buckle: M.A.WILKINSON. The background resemales the one on the O.P.'s knife. The date on the buckle is 7/83 so he may not ...

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos

Interesting knives Tom! I have one almost identical made by Robeson; the difference being a pen secondary blade instead of a file. The bail is stamped, '' PAT. MAY 13, 1924 ''. Which brings up an interesting question: Did Robeson possibly make these for L.F.&C ? I say this because according to L...

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos

Hope I can answer this coherently as it covers a lot of ground. Originally my fascination was with so-called, '' switchblades ''. Got a cheap Imperial fishtail from a classmate in junior high school. Lasted about 2 weeks. Got a few Italian stilettos in high school(still have 2; a couple got confisca...

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos

Drawer 6: ivory, bone, & celluloid handled knives. Ray, are you still actively accumulating knives or at this point would you say that your accumulation a fait accompli ? Still indiscriminately accumulating! As the infamous Red Green would say: '' I'm a man..... I can quit..... any time..... if...

Re: Browning 2718F2

To me the handles appear to be a dark green with lighter green lines running through them. They don't look like any ebony I've ever seen. Here is an example of the jade I have: a set of 4 custom steak knives made of two different types of jade.

Re: Odd Or Unique Places You Have Gotten Or Purchased Knives

One of my customers for whom I've pinstriped quite a few vehicles &a...
