Re: Arrow Heads
In my 30s I used to look for arrowheads here in North Central Florida, At one time I had dozens, but gave them away over the years. These are the only ones I have left, and if the State of Florida had their wishes they would take them from me and put them in hibernation somewhere deep in the bowels ...

Re: To clip, or not to clip, that is the question.
To the contrary MadDog. For me, using the clip makes it harder to lose your knife. A right handed person will place the knife inside of the front right pocket to the far right seam of the pants to ensure it will not open. Only the discreet clip is exposed on the outside of the pants. If I am wearin...

Penny Pocketknife
Well, that is a bit of a stretch. The auction ended at a penny but the seller was making it up on $10.00 shipping. Tax, tag and title just under $13.00.
Still a nice blade for the money. This is how I deal with inflation.

Re: To clip, or not to clip, that is the question.
Personally I despise tactical with clips, I despise traditionals with clips but I carry a tactical in the breast pocket of my bibs most of the time. Easy to reach, don’t mind using a tactical as a gasket scraper or wire cutter, what ever comes along. All that said and done, my Queen or Case is my p...

Come slummin with me. Japanese made SOG
Plundering through eBay I came across this one in the final minutes with no bids so I got it like the little birdie sings; cheap, cheap, cheap. (right at twenty bucks shipped) It came in the mail today and I am pleasantly surprised. It is an inexpensive knife, even new, but it seems to be a cut abov...

Re: To clip, or not to clip, that is the question.
When I use a clip, they are uncomfortable sitting, driving and snoozing in the recliner…but I carry my cell phone in my right front pocket, and nothing else because of scratching up my phone, well left front pocket gets a knife, keys, and often I carry a small firearm like a baby browning 25 in the...

I call them knives, anyone else can call them knifes, I don't care I know what they're talking about. I agree, but wherever you go there will be a spelling Nazi who will come at you with both barrels for typing "The" as "Teh"; something that is easy to do if you are an imperfect...

Re: To clip, or not to clip, that is the question.
For me, if it’s a traditional style, the clip comes off as soon as I can find a screw driver. I’ve also done that with modern knife too like Benchmade. Right now the only knives that I have clips on is some Microtechs, but I don’t think I’d have a problem taking those off either. After the I take t...

To clip, or not to clip, that is the question.
I just wonder how many of you knife folks carry their knives clipped to their pockets. I see a lot of it out in public but I have never had use for a pocket clip. Of course, I started carrying pocket knives long before the clips were a thing. I carried a pocket knife when I was in elementary school....

Re: "FOR FLESH ONLY "BLADES
I always thought that it was an implication to save this blade for nutting hogs, in order to keep it sharp. I doubt that the metallurgy was different from the other blades. If I recall, I had the blade on a three blade pocket knife, and I avoided using that blade, although I had no future castration...

Re: Is It Knives or Knifes?
Knifes is what you do to someone in a bar. Past tense: knifed. Plural of knife is knives, but knifes should work just as well, as whoever reads it knows what the other person is speaking of. It was not long ago, from a historical perspective, that spelling was not codified and multiple spellings of ...

Re: Camillus or Imperial
Willie that's pretty interesting, never knew Camillus glued their wood handles on. That still wouldn't apply to that patent though. That would only work on plastic or something that could be molded. Maddog if you look in the blade well can you see two fairly large holes in the liners behind the cov...

Re: Imperial Apothecary or Pharmacy knife.
Obviously, it had to be a giveaway, given like most pharmaceutical ad knives, there's tons of them, and few that actually look like someone carried and used it. I would lean in the other direction and suggest that this was a retail piece made to sell in drug stores, which was an important conduit t...

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
My oldest boy, (17) works at a funeral home and is about to start his apprenticeship. The owner is as big a gun nut as we are and probably has more guns stashed around the funeral home than most people own. So he and Jackson get along really well. We’ll today Jackson has a funeral and the deceased ...

Re: China made Camillus
There are just too many good American made knives in circulation for me to buy a Chinese knife. It might seem unkind, but it is my personal feeling that we have already sent China too many American jobs. We came to world power as an industrial giant and we have given it away to our enemies. Make no ...

Camillus or Imperial
I bought this one this morning. Looking up the patent number, it is a Camillus patent dealing with the attachment method of the handles. Any ideas how that works, did Imperial have Camillus make the knife? Also, and guesses on the date of this one would be appreciated. I do know the range dictated b...

I have an Old Timer USA that has XX stamped into the tang, seems that was a common way to designate seconds. FIW, I have never discovered what made it a second. No pics, too much trouble. I see nothing wrong with this knife. Of course it may have had a spot on the blade that is now a part of it's h...

Nostalgia knife question
I acquired my three score and ten age yesterday, much to my surprise. I treated myself to a copy of the knife I carried in my 20s, in my pocket no less. I cut a lot of oakum with that knife, and got a lot of ribbing by the old guys (in their 30s and 40s) about carrying such a big knife in my pocket....
