I think your knife might have started out as an unfinished over-run from the UST3GS sets that was completed and sold when Schrade was shutting down. Eric was good enough to confirm (in final post of below thread) that single color etches wen...

That is quite the colorful knife. Schrade's old celluloid does seem very stable. Great find.

Re: ROLAND UPDATE

Dr. Roland Procter was a very kind and knowledgeable man. He was always quick to offer help. I will always cherish the knives I got from him as I remember him fondly. I've known him as a fellow Schrade collector (and BC resident back then) since 2009. His legacy of posts here on aapk and bladeforums...

I like old cars as well. I own both the 71 Mustang convertible and the 1938 dodge brother sedan and my Schrade knives ride comfortably in both. Both are all original and not piecemeal together. The 38 has only 20k miles on it. Wow! You are a man of fine tastes! A Schrade in a collectable car sounds...

Original cost was $24.50. Schrade made 10000 of them (as you mentioned). They are always available but always desirable! That is toasted sambar stag. Stainless blades are likely 440A steel. It sports a clip and a spey blade. It has an antiqued nickel silver shield iirc What else do you want to know?...
