Re: It's a killer knives
Ebay would be a better place if all the knife sellers were as honest as him! I have bought from him before ebay existed, and continue to respect his honesty to this day. .....Farts out I have purchased numerous knives from George (itsakiller) over the years and everything has been nothing but top n...

Re: Handle jigging
You might want to ask the experts and put this one on the counterfeit forum. Doesn't look like Case jigging to me and I have concerns over the tang stamp and the tang itself.

Re: What's Wrong With This Picture
I've actually seen a handle modification like that before, but not a pull "embellishment" like that. Perhaps that knife must have belonged to someone with really fat fingers?

Re: Unusual German knife construction
It looks to me like this old knife has seen a lot of action and a lot tinkering. From your second picture it is clear that the liners are severely bent. I'm thinking that the bone handle scales have been replaced because of the large gaps between the scales and the bolsters, and because I don't see ...

Re: CASE TESTED Stag Drs knife????
I'm no expert, but I have my doubts about this knife too. I don't think the pattern 85 doctor's knife was ever handled in stag (but I'm not 100% sure) and I have concerns about the tang stamp. On both tangs the letter C is touching the A and none of my Case tested knives look like that and I think t...

Re: Side to Side Blade Movement on Custom LB when closed
Q, I think I can clearly see the pivot pin head when I expand your pictures (dead center in the bolster in your first picture). I'm guessing that it was never peened properly to begin with and needs to be replaced. But, as Dale said, I would would need to see the knife. Lana 'iʻo ka manaʻo!

This might help. But as others have suggested you should practice on some junk blades first.

Re: Pocket knife jargon questions?
::welcome:: to AAPK! Pull strength, sometimes called snap, is good up to a point. If you can't get the blade open using your nail, then there are issues because how will you be able to use a knife like that? Modern tacticals have a "flipper tab" for moving the blade past the detent that h...

Decent knives with cracked, broken or missing scales. Nice opening and closing snap on all blades. The stockman is 6392 the tickler is 61093, can’t make out the pattern no on the Barlow. I’m not set up for online payments so payment by Postal money order. Asking $125 shipped for the group. A340AFCA...

Yeah, those things aren't hard to fix, but I'm totally amazed that GEC would sent out a knife with the blade "peeking" like that!

Ulster 10th Mountain Division. Trying to determine if the what was normally the phillips blade was made this way or is broken off. I had always thought that was a one piece blade and does not appear it has been broken. Guesses?55939049-09F8-458F-9A9F-9D7A66B44496.jpeg0C0E9A11-6754-4B14-8497-95F908F...

Re: Western L77 - Ideas
Just grabbed an old L77 with a bakelite pommel (Late WWII timeframe?). Its a bit rough and the Pommel's broken, but I'm a fan of the brand, the history, and the knife style. Any thoughts on what I can "reasonably" do with this knife with beginner skills. I'd love to restore it, but am not...

Re: Anyway to loosen screws that have glue or locktight?
First try leaving a drop of WD-40 on each screw head for a few hours, then see i f you can loosen them. Second, try heating them up with a heat gun first. Good luck..
