Atlante Spelling counts! It can be purchased at Masecraft Supply. The third link shows a finished product that appears to be quite similar to the material found on the OP’s knife. https://www.masecraftsupply.com/Atlante-Inlay-Material_c_273-2.html https://www.masecraftsupply.com/Atlante-10-B...

Which god? Humanity has worshipped thousands of gods and goddesses. America’s true god is, and has always been, the ‘Almighty Dollar’. . Yes, the almighty dollar is indeed the god (little "g") of many. Need to look at the context. Two things tell me it is the only True and Living God, the...

Re: #3L in Antique Bone - any insight ?

G’day, Derek. This is only a guess, but I wonder if your S&M #3L’s liners were made from leftover patterned (stamped) brass handle material from Queen’s ‘Executive Series’ of penknives that were made for a relatively short period in the late 1990s. If that be the case, my best guess is that your...

Hello, new member here, and I am just learning how to tell a penknife from a citrus knife from a whatever... I have an interesting pre-1920 WR Case & Sons MOP knife, engraved "Dr. G.M. Edwards." It is stamped on the tang of the smaller of the two minor blades. It looks a bit unusual t...

Re: KA-BAR , confused with dating this

These had a pretty long run, circa 1968-2001. I don't know who actually made them, they were not made at the KA-BAR factory in Olean, NY. I'd say use it, they have not yet really become collector items. IIRC, the earlier model 1189s were produced in Olean—not in the KA-BAR factory, but under contra...

Re: Ka-bar 471-5 sheath question

The snap on the OP’s sheath was manufactured by United States Fastener Company. In 1929, United States Fastener merged with a company named Carr to become United Carr. Later snap fasteners were marked “United Carr” to reflect this change. So at least the female half of the snap on said sheath was pr...

According to Anthony Carter's "German Knife and Sword Maker", TIDAX was a brand name for Gebruder Stamm of Dusseldorf. He was a merchant with no direct connection to the Solingen based knifemakers by the name of Stamm. He sold pocket knives with ORIGINAL TIDAX on one side of the blades an...

Re: "I Do, I Do" Case's Sunday Nite $5

This really doesn’t address any of your questions, Roland; but I find it quite interesting that Case used Kittinger Furniture of Buffalo, New York to do the woodwork. I wonder if Kittinger actually manufactured the block and handle or if they simply designed them for Case to manufacture in their own...

Re: Who's Attending The Blade Show

Spending hours inside a building with a lot of other people is the best way to catch Covid. If Blade is not cancelled, i bet attendance will be low. I think most people will not want to take the risk. Even if everyone wears a mask, transmission will still occur when there are a lot of people inside...
