Old Western pen knife

I’ve posted this knife before in Q&A...found that it was made between ‘50 and ‘61. I wanted to share it here in its proper forum to see if anyone has more information on it. Curious that it doesn’t have a shield; many similar Western patterns have the shield. I’m wondering if there is a way to m...

Re: Bone-handled gunstock jack - Lion Cutlery co.

Carter's book "German Knife and Sword Makers" gives "Lion Cutlery", registered in 1905, as one of the markings used by C. Lutters & Co. The more often seen marking is "C. Lutters & Co." over reclining lion trademark with "Lowenwerk/Solingen" underneat...

Re: Bone-handled gunstock jack - Lion Cutlery co.

Perhaps it’s from 1903-1929? Found a reference listing it’s tang stamp in a google document. I think you may be on to something. In Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings there is a listing for LION WORKS SHEFFIELD . The only additional info on that listing is "A German made knife". Coul...

Picked this up at a flea market for cheap; I can’t seem to find any legitimate information on it. Anybody have any ideas? How old is it, company history, value?

Yours is what folks here call a HOK for honest old knife. A good quality knife that has seen plenty of use but is a survivor and could tell some great stories if it could talk. Dennis Certainly is a HOK. I like that acronym ::tu:: For me, the most rewarding part of finding these old knives and clea...

Mopbucket not wanting to steal your post, but thought you might be interested in this one I picked up about a month ago, it looks very similar to yours. I believe the sheath is original to the knife. Re: Great-grandpa’s Eye Brand identification?

Sorry to be late weighing-in on this one. Seems my Kubota tractor needed some TLC this weekend. In checking back through the older catalogs from Knife Importers in Austin, TX., I find that the subject knife has been offered by Eye Brand dating back to the early 1960’s. The latest catalog I have pri...

Help dating a Puma knife.

Picked this one up recently and I’m not having any luck digging up information about it. From what I can find, because of the lack of coding/numbering, it is pre-1964.

Are there any Puma afficianados here that can give me a better understanding of what knife I got here and how old it is?

Re: Great-grandpa’s Eye Brand identification?

No one in the family seems to remember when he picked it up. I’m guessing it was the seventies but hard to say.
Doesn’t appear to have seen any super heavy use besides the patina it’s taken on.

Great-grandpa’s Eye Brand identification?

My dad recently gave me a very special Eye Brand knife. It was my great grandpa’s, my grandpa’s, my dad’s, and now it is mine. I have many memories of seeing it carried and used as I grew up in Oregon. I’m curious what information you nerds can give me on this one. I struggled getting a picture of t...

Old Utica knife w/ spiral punch?

Found this guy at a flea market. It is stamped:
UTICA
CUTLERY CO.
UTICA.N.Y.
MADE IN U.S.A.
Handle material seems to be an imitation stag of some kind. There is a long pull clip, spey blade, and a spiral punch.
I’m curious how old this knife is and what value, if any, it has. Thanks in advance guys.

Seeking info on this knife:

How old is this flea market find? What is the handle material and/or color scheme called?
So far I’ve found that it’s called a slender serpentine jack. #15 is stamped on the tang of the main blade.

Seeking info on Sabre Solingen Barlow

Got this knife awhile ago at an antique store for $18. It is a Barlow knife with bone handles - the bolsters read Sabre Solingen on one side, Barlow on the other. The tang stamp reads “American Knife Co.” with “Germany” stamped underneath. The other side of the blade is tang stamped “Sabre Solingen”...
