Thanks. I've had a few people who didn't see a resemblance on the goose. But I don't care. I'm having fun with it and it is just a stick. Going to whittle out a few more stick birds.

First try at chainsaw carving an owl. I'm not sure if it looks like an owl or an alien. I definitely learned from this one for the next time.

Picked up this one in unused condition for $20 from a local gunship today.
There were 3 new in the plastic scrimshaw Barlow's with different designs and boxes but passed on those. He was asking $40ea for those.

Re: Wood carving projects

Used my Bark River Knives to whittle out a hobo fishing reel. Made it out of a stick of cherry. I've never made one before. Some stain and poly then I'll put some line on and see how it works and what changes might have to be made.

Gnome with a football helmet carved with my seahorse whittler. Detroit Lions play today. And while I'm not a big sports fan I will watch and see if they can make it to the super bowl. If they do I think I'll paint the helmet blue and add the roman super bowl numbers to the front of the base and prob...

Re: Wood carving projects

Had a piece of scrap wood I was going to throw away. Decided to see if I could get something out of it. So it's still a work in progress. Two turtles on a log. Going to add paint and a little bit of wood burning to finish it.

I normally post on the whittling/woodcarving section. I used these two to carve out a hillbilly/gnome. Case seahorse whittler and a Buck 307.
