Re: Went and Visited the Neighbor Today @BoatrightBladeWorks
I really enjoyed the layout of his website, and the look of his knives. And, I was excited to see that he is a fellow Alabamian! If his knives look as good in-hand as they do online, then you have found yourself a great custom maker! He seems to be doing well at the TKI Nashville show he said he so...

Went and Visited the Neighbor Today @BoatrightBladeWorks
Went and visited Chase Boatright at Boatright Bladeworks https://boatrightbladeworks.wixsite.com/mysite today to pick up a knife he was selling. Ended up hanging out a few hours talking knives and Blade Show. Had a blast and also picked me out one of his works in progress. 4th from the left in last ...

Blade Show 2022
Another great show in the books. Didn't bring home a whole lot and nothing to far out there. I did however get to see the smiling faces of a bunch a friends (can't remember everyone's screen name here but you know who you are) and made some new ones. That's what it's all about. Ryan Forbes and the C...

Matt Cucchiara Customs
Got back from Blade Show Atlanta and found what I was hoping to find there. These arrived this week in the mail and I couldn't be more pleased these are some great custom pieces by Matt Cucchiara. I don't know Matt's whole story but he started making knives in 2003 after many years of collecting. So...

Henckels Litho & Ice Skate Advertisement
Been a minute since I've posted anything. Postcard sized Lithograph of the J.A. Henckels factory, from the The Exposition Universelle of 1900, better known in English as the 1900 Paris Exposition, was a world's fair held in Paris, France, from 14 April to 12 November 1900, to celebrate the achieveme...

What did everyone bring back from Blade Show 2021
Nothing vintage this year for me but I did score the knife I was after. Nautilus FLIP by Abie Lyons of AJ Blades. Aswell as the Microtech and Heretic Show Specials. Can't forget this beast Straight Razor by Sterling Buster and TOPS Knives. Kansept Mini Kryo - Lightning Strike Ano #23 of 50. Also pic...

More Henckels Deerfoot
So last time I posted my newest Deerfoot patterns we had a little debate about era and what not. Thanks to Neal Punchard's new book ( J.A. Henckel Knives ) we have some model #'s and production years as well as an old advertisement. Anyway on to the blades, these 2 newest acquisitions are definitely...

I mean really nowhere does it say a gentleman files his nails, clips his nose hairs and needs a button hook does it. . Then again it doesn't say they sit and drink and smoke either.

Re: Rich. A. Herder Gentleman's Knife
"Gent's knife" is a term used for small, slender, pen or lobster knives, often with metal handles and with a manicure blade that a 'gentleman' might carry in his pocket to the office or church, etc. Your knife is a 2 blade Jack. Many or even most, older German jacks have a corkscrew which...

I’ve not seen that pattern previously, but I like it. Nice collection! It appears some have a corkscrew but others don’t? Ken Yes Ken, much like the Henckels double cigar cutters all are slightly different in some way. Corkscrew Fulcrum lock release Friction release Lockback (C.F. Schwartz & Co...

Re: Henckels Deerfoot
Yes this is an old Henckels pattern, likely goes back to early 1900's. What i was asking is: was it made after 1960 when Henckels began contracting out their folding knives ? Many patterns were not made after 1960, i.e. they were dropped, not made by contacting out. kj I would guess there's a good ...

Five years later  ...... here's a pearl and abalone handle cigar cutter! 8) Very nice only the 2nd with abalone strips that I have seen and I have the other one. Of the 12 double Hneckels I have all are different in some way, handle materials, handle material divider i.e., abalone, etc..., # ...

Re: Henckels Deerfoot
Wow ! I think it is a Henckels' pattern. I have an old Henckels catalog that shows this knife. I wonder if any were made after 1960 as 'contract knives', i.e. by whoever Henckels had making folding knives for them, Boker ? They are hard to find knives so having 6 is quite an accomplishment. kj I ag...

Henckels Deerfoot
This is probably one of my foavrite patterns. I have only ever heard it refered to as a deerfoot since it's shape does resemble the actual deerfoot knives. I currently have 6 of this pattern, 4 that are Henckels and they are all different. I have seen other variations of this pattern as well so how ...

J.A. Henckels Silver Polish Cloth
Pretty cool vintage piece from Ebay. Just a guess on age is pre 1918. I'm saying this because Wein ( Vienna ) is located in what is now known as Austria, which seperated from Germany in 1918. All the other cities are still located in Germany. Like I said just a guess. J.A. Henckels Silver Polishing ...

Making Room For Them Shell Pullers
I've picked up a few more here and there, have some enroute and watching some others so figured I need to rearrange alittle. Simple move was put the leverlocks in a folder and that did free up a bit of space in my box. 1-17-21 Shell Pullers Leverlock.jpg 1-17-21 Shell Pullers - 2.jpg 1-17-21 Shell P...
