Re: Vintage Rigid fixed blade knife
That is a Rigid Ripper model. Whether it is a USA Hand Made version or later Japanese made version I can't tell. The Stamp, where it is placed, examination of the Sheath, etc would tell us more. If you happen to have a copy of "Gun Digest Book of Knives" (1st Ed 1973) you can refer to page...

Re: Perry Miller MIA?
I spoke with him about 3 weeks ago. I'd say he is just busy buyin & sellin and getting ready for the BLADE show. Give him a couple of days to answer and if you have to try again.
Good on ya for checkin in with him.

There is one on Ebay that is Black Cherry Bone.

Re: Great Eastern Model 23 / Remington R-1123
Thanks guys.
Paul- Your quite right about the prices. In 1925 the Remington would have sold for approx $2.25 Now keep in mind what other things were costing then;
Bread $.09 lb
Coffee $.50 lb
Suger $.35 5 lbs
Corn Meal $.06 lb
Oranges $.57 doz
Times have certainly changed.

Great Eastern Model 23 / Remington R-1123

Made approx 1925 and still in excellent Condition. http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr214/Fort_Henry_Custom_Knives/IMG_4989.jpg As a Great Eastern fan I felt a kinship to this knife though I had never even hel...

WOW! I'm with Gary on the Saddlehorn idea.
I like a nice big sowbelly as well. Don't own one, but that will change if GEC makes one.

I happen to collect Knife Books as well as knives and when someone posted that this might be in Mr. Voyles book I thought I would take a look - here is what I found - I.B.C.A. GEC - Lockback
Well, GEC has brought forth their first Lockback. The pattern seems to be based on the Remington Bullet (complete with Thong Hole). I have heard that there will be two sizes, the first to arrive is the Mini - which is still plenty large enough at 3 7/8" closed. Here is the Release fresh off the...

Re: GEC Production Totals
Well you were right, the numbers should be completed by mid March or early April. There are still a few short runs that need to be completed and those call for the remainder of the '09 blades so the Totals can't be tallied until these are complete. If I get them before they are posted I will put the...

To be honest I've never used one with the 440C steel, the only two I carry both have 1095.
I'm sure someone will post here with some firsthand experience, or perhaps you could ask the same question in the GEC Forum.
