Re: How Many Knives Do You Carry Daily?
Usually two. A small swiss army or other traditional (GEC 25 or 14 size) in left front pocket and a larger traditional (GEC 73 or 74) in right front pocket. I'm waiting on a Grand Daddy Camillus Barlow to get fixed and I just got a #98 Cattle Knife but those are both very big knives and may become v...

Yeah--they're asking around 100$ for them-which is GEC territory. I am curious though. RCM

Re: Self-examination of an Accumulator...
Good wisdom above. I will try to incorporate it into my thinking. I'm new to knives and the online stores are like being the proverbial "kid in the candy store." Been buying w/o much focus beyond a preference for single banded traditionals--maybe because the knife that started me down this...

Any good reason for this handle shape?
Hey all -- Was just cruising around Ebay feeding my knife addiction and saw this weird looking knife. Any reason beyond aesthetics?? for the handle?

Re: Tube value
Thanks for the input and thoughtful discussion everyone. I went ahead and bought a knife w/o packaging because I really like the knife--that may be the best guide in the end. Was just worrying that GEC prices are getting a little bit into "tulip mania" territory. Thanks again. RCM

Tube value
Curious to know how much people think the lack of original tube/packaging would affect the value of an early GEC? Thanks

I'm 55. New to knives but carrying a GEC and a Swiss Army while I wait for some older traditionals to get fixed up. Tactical folders don't appeal for some reason.

Re: Another Newbie from California
Thanks--My uncle lived in St. Petersburg for many years and one of my grandfathers had a meat delivery route in California back in the 30's before he opened his own small grocery store. Have one of the old butcher blocks from that store in my house. RCM

Re: Another Newbie from California
Thanks Olde Cutler! Just like with knives it looks like restoring tools is another hobby where one thing leads to another and another. I do have more questions about how to deal with the handles on the drawknife but maybe I should wait til I figure out how to post pictures and take those to another ...

Another Newbie from California
Hello all and thanks for all the information I have gleaned from lurking at this site for the last few weeks. I found a couple of my older pocketknives in my deceased father's stuff that has been in my garage for a several years (inside a toolbox containing some of my grandfather's old tools). With ...
