Re: 1983 Camillus Pilot knife

Wow. Thanks for the info. Ive seen the Ontario 1400 knife and I gotta tell ya I much prefer the Camillus. The Camillus just feels better. Not a big fan of the rubber grip.

1983 Camillus Pilot knife

So today I bought an unissued Camillus Pilot Knife circa 1983, for $54.00 including shipping. Ive been wanting one for awhile and I think the price was right. It will be a carry knife that I will be using for some upcoming camping exursursuons in the Adirondacks. I know that this knife has a long ri...

A.G.R CM-2 Camillus

Just wanted to get your opinions on the A.G Russell knives produced by Camillus. The particular model I am looking at is a Barlow style CM-2. When were they made, and what are they worth in non carried condition. Thanks. Rich

Re: Identification of a Camillus

For me I am in the beginning stage of collecting, and the knives I buy I like to carry. Right now my favorite is 4 Line Camillus TL-29 with wood handles. The embossed "TL-29" is barely visible. I just thinks it's amazing how a knife that is maybe 70 years old is just as sturdy as the day i...

Is this a Camillus????

Hey all. Saw this knife and the seller believes that it was made by Camillus for Sears. If this is true is there any difference in the quality? The tang stamp has 3 lines that reads. High Carbon -Steel - USA. Also any idea how much it's worth? Thanks!

Re: Identification of a Camillus

Got the knife for $10! Now all I have to do is wait for the mail to come. Yup....seller lives literally 10 min from my house and they won't do local pick-up. I suggested to meet in a public place and they expressed that they didn't feel comfortable doing that. Oh well...I guess we all have our reaso...

Identification of a Camillus

Here is a Camillus Knife that is for sale on EBay, and the seller lives 5 miles from me. I was just curious to know when this was made and what model it is. The tang stamp doesn't look like any that I'm familiar with (albeit I've only been collecting for 3 months now) I think the seller.wants $13 O/...

Re: Should I "86" my Ebay Camillus 99???

I think that the brass liner on the pile side is bent in ever so slightly. I think what I will do is either find an inside micrometer or use some feeler gauges and check the width between the liners on both ends of the knife. Is this a valid way to check? When I push the handle up against the liner,...

I guess it goes with the territory! Yeah the knife is not what I thought it would be, but it's a learning experience. The sheath however is a different story. It's friggin sweet! Lol!!!!

Should I "86" my Ebay Camillus 99???

Hey all. So this Camillus 99 I got for $22.00 arrived yesterday I have to say I was disappointed when I opened it. Looked great on EBay, but I'm sure many of you have done the same thing. The most obvious issue is the handle is warped. This was not evident in the auction pictures. Also the main blad...

Re: Camillus Streamline Outgasses

Makes sense. So basically the handles crap out and can ruin the knife. That's a shame, because they are pretty sweet looking knives. Does it discolor the blades or does it chemically ear away at it?

Sharpening a Camillus Knife

Hi All. Just curious to get some opinions about the best way to sharpen a knife. I recently purchased a army issued Camillus TL-29. It has a 4 line tang stamp that I think is in great condition. I plan on using it an "everyday" light duty knife. From what I can tell it is in very good cond...

My grandmother, who is 94 use to tell me stories about America during WW2, particularly about rationing. She grew up in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn, a child of the Great Depression . During the Dwpression you made do with what ya got, and if you ain't got it then you improvised. Nothing ever went to was...
