Well you never know how far from home you’re feeling. Until you’ve watched the shadows cross the ceiling.
John Prine.
What a beautiful way to describe a sleepless night. Watching the shadows cross the ceiling.
He was an amazing writer.

Because you’re mine, I walk the line.
Always makes me realize, I’d be dead or in prison if I hadn’t met my wife. So many decisions made over the years would have been different if I wasn’t walking the line.

Wow! What a crazy ride you’ve been on. Glad you are on the mend. It is a good lesson for all of us. My Grandmother instilled in my family a deep distrust of doctors. So I take it all with a grain of salt.

Your faith and positive attitude is inspiring. Especially with the less than positive news.

My Dad would rub the juices all over the blade of his chef’s knife then clean the blade off. Otherwise you only get patina on the area that did the cutting. He also did the same to the cutting board. My Great Grandmother would rub a cut potato on a new knife when she finished cutting potatoes. They ...

Those both look a little fancier than the run of the mill JPK knives and sheaths.
They look like they match.

I like sticking small blades into large onions. Leave in a day or 2. This onion had a double center. It gives you the same pattern on both sides. Giving the allusion it goes all the way through

I’ve also heard the story about them chopping through lines with a belaying pin on the rail. I also had my doubts. But I can see it happening in an emergency.

I have a similar one in my driveway. It’s just an ornament now. But it’s not going anywhere. I believe they work pretty well for axes and such even if not round. They turn very slowly. You hold the axe steady and you will skip over the low spot. A lot of them have a flat spot. There would be a tin t...

I have owned a number of those Kutmaster rope knives, some serrated edge, some plain edge. Here is one that I sold recently on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/256357814796 You'll se a lot of various brands of rope knives with WALL ROPE advertising. This one also has PT JUDITH FISHERMANS COOP etched ...

Re: Case auction knife
I'd bet it isn't Case. My best guess is that the knife is a WW 2 vintage Navy Mark 1. The knife has a steel guard which is a key to war time production. The shape of the pommel suggests manufacture by Geneva Forge. The sheath appears to be original, although left-handed. I guess that is about all I...

Found this on Ebay. For $1 + $7.95 shipping It was listed as “Knife and Sheath”. Not very descriptive. My bottom feeding trick is when I have a few minutes to kill. I’ll search “knife”. It returns about a billion results. Sort by ending soonest and start scrolling. This one had 20 minutes to go with...

Re: Empty sheath seeks compatible mate
I still think it would be a miss match. The 2 blade hunters that have sheaths that I have seen are pointy on the bottom and the knives go in tip down. It just seems like the wrong shaped sheath for that knife but a quick eBay search for 6265ss shows they came with both styles. I suspect that sheath ...
