Re: Hear of a Good One Lately
Here is one that I found amusing... The Haircut. A man was getting a haircut prior to a trip to Rome. He mentioned the trip to the barber, who responded, “Why would anyone want to go there. It’s crowded and dirty and full of Italians. You’re crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you getting there?” “We’r...

Re: What reason for rope blade shape?
Apropos of nothing, since someone mentioned "line" and "rope" in a thread about a rope knife.... In the maritime community, "ropes" fall into 4 categories. Small stuff, lines and hawsers. And "rope". Small stuff is anything less than 1" in diameter. We'r...

Re: Camillus USN Fixed Blade
Can't answer your question for sure, but in addition to being a fine looking knife it sure looks like a Case Seabee Hunter I have that I believe was made by Camillus in 2001 as a 60th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Commemorative. Very helpful and many thanks, Hardman. They do look like twins. ::tu:: :...

Camillus USN Fixed Blade
Guys, In a recent batch of knives I got a Camillus fixed blade knife and I'll put a photo at the bottom of this post. It is stamped CAMILLUS, N.Y. on one side of the ricasso and U.S.N. on the other side. I have no idea as to the age of this knife and if someone here might give me a little help, I'd ...

I agree! 💯 😎👍 Shouldn't that 5 blade have a punch? I have trouble remembering how that old truism used to go but seems like it was All punch blades have an acorn shield but all acorn shields do not have a punch. Maybe one of the more avid Remington guys will come along to confirm that. :D And this ...

Mornin' Phil and those to follow. Yep, also cold here this spring morning at 44º. I had to dig into the drawer and pull my long pants out. We'll likely see about 70º later today. The Bride and I both have appointments with the dermatologist this morning so I'll be all speckled up after he gets throu...

Re: Why carry a pocket knife?
I don't ever remember going to school without a pocket knife. There was some mumbly peg to play and I recall going into the boys room to shave off some peach fuzz in my senior year. I used my Tested 47 to remove a lot of coon penis bones during my coon hunting days.

Qualified annually with +P ammo in my mod 60 for 2 decades. Sucker would get so hot you couldn't touch it but no damage. Isn't a model 60 a 357 mag? Not this one. It is clearly marked as a 38. I suspect there is a 357mag version. This one was made from 1969 to, or thru, 1972 according to a book I f...

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
I was at a show earlier today and a little S&W model 60 called my name from across the aisle. I just couldn't walk away without it. Some of you who are more familiar with this model, can I use +P ammo in it? Ray It appears to be one of the newer models with the slightly longer cylinder, stainle...

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words. I think it is a neat little carry-type pistol. I'll load it up with some wadcutters for a safer round. I'll likely rotate it with my Sig P938 for daily carry.

True or false. Some SIG 320 lawsuits going on Alec Baldwin style. Have about 9 SIG slide guns. No strikers. Not my bag but to each his own. Love my SIGs. All external hammers. Most are SA/DA. Thank you for welcoming me into this forum. I would like to share some pictures. The next thing I need to learn is how. I would like to share some pictures of the original bullet knives my dad had. They are not in my possession and are going up for auction pretty soon. I have 3 other siblings and t...
