Re: Hardware Store and Distributor Knives
The latest C.M. McClung knife that I have turned up. It is a Keeneredge branded pen knife with pretty celluloid handle. C.M. McClung was located in Knoxville, TN. Keeper edge brand was used from the 1930’s-1960’s.

Found this tiny (2.5” closed) little Queen #7 senator pattern. Looks hardly used. Nice Winterbottom scales.

Re: Robert Klaas Kissing Crane Poultry Shears
These things make cutting the backbones out of poultry a cinch. I am sure they would do great on wild game as well.

Do you guys think the #10 knives with steel liners and pins were made during wartime due to rationing of copper and brass?

This is a Queen #32 Congress in Winterbottom bone I recently picked up. The tang stamp indicates 1958-1960 production.

Re: Old Queen Cutlery Co. Knives
Here are a couple of #10 jack knives. A Queen City with black composite scales, steel liners and pins and a Queen with Rogers Bone scales. The Rogers Bone knife is uncleaned and unmessed with. Just how I like to find them! I love this pattern. Strong, tough work knives.

Thanks guys. Treefarmer, it is a #32. Just wish it’s previous owner hadn’t cleaned it up quite so thoroughly.

Re: Hardware Store and Distributor Knives
Thanks guys! C.M. McClung was a goods distributor located in Knoxville Tennessee that was sort of like a regional Sears and Roebuck that operated from about the 1890s-1970. They branded items with different trade names such as “Cranberry” “Cherokee” etc. Pocket knives were branded “Cranberry” or “Ke...

I am always on the lookout for C.M. McClung Hardware knives from Knoxville, TN. I just picked up the best example I have found so far. This particular knife has full blades and even has the “Cranberry” brand etch!

Re: The WINTERBOTTOM Thread!!!
espn77, thank you! Winterbottom Queen knives are my favorites. That english jack was my grandfather’s knife and the one that got me interested in knife collecting. He was killed in a coal mining accident in 1961. That knife was in his pocket when he was found. I received it from his brother when I w...

Re: Remington stuff (except knives)
Thanks guys! One thing that is odd about this McClung catalog is that ONLY Remington Knives are featured. McClung sold many brands including their own house knife brand. A collector told me that wholesalers would sometimes sell catalog space to companies to exclusively feature their products.
