Thanks for all of your input and scenarios. I see what you all are saying as rescaling. i just look at all of the bids of cobbled up knives and can't believe how many people get burned on EBay.

Tang stamp should be 5249 not 6249. Front pin looks messy to me

Thank you for your reply. That looks to be it. I have looked on EBay for a long time and have never seen one on there. Now to decide whether to buy or pass. I would like one in mint condition with the box. They rarely come up for sale
