Re: Any chance of a sticky for fixed blade Schrades?
Incredible Sears Craftsman knife set. Question if it was late 60's wouldn't it have been a birds head pommel instead of flat on the 171 clone? Was Schrade using that flat head design then? Reason I ask is that I have a Schrade Walden 171 with the flat head pommel. I assumed it was from 1973 -74 when...

Great thread. I use to collect piano tuners couple decades ago and came across this research on the veneer handles they called artwood. Originally called Impreg and Compreg. Here's a link for those that like to "geek out" on this type of info. https://ir.library.oregonstate.edu/downloads/2...

Always really liked the Schrade Adolphus-Busch Stanhope corkscrew knives. Yes, I always wanted to peek into that little window. If there was a nekkid woman in there I might buy one. I actually have one of those nekkid girlie peep viewers. Was my Grandfathers, the little devil. Found it in his garag...

Re: Irv Trachtenberg Prototype 7OT
Seen one about 10 years ago on the other Schrade forum. Don’t know if the pics are still up. Don’t recall it being identified as a Trachtenberg prototype though. Looks like someone got creative on their lunch time. I would have suspected if it was Irv’s knife it would have his salesman’s number on i...

Re: Lb7 spring bar help.
I see spring bars for sale on eBay all the time. Some one must have got a million of them in 2004. I believe they are the doubles though that started being used sometime in the late 80's early 90's and are more prone to breaking that the single originally used. I believe Orvet an AAPK Admin started ...

Re: 3OT Schrade Old Timer Salesman Sample with Sheepsfoot Blade
I remember reading about this issue coming on the other site because of LT's post on the 69/70 reissue. Don't believe there was ever a resolution or corroboration either. As well one of those pics LT posted of the catalog sheets are copied on to The collectors site and labeled 1960. Per the UT BM no...

Those are some black beauties to be sure. I remember reading years ago LT posted about Schrade using black plastic composite handles from the 40's thru the 50's on some knives.

Re: Any chance of a sticky for fixed blade Schrades?
Picked this 165OT up over the weekend. It's a mild user in excellent shape. Surprisingly it's the only 165 I own. It's a chucky monkey for its size but fits perfectly in my gorilla hands. Very slight surface scratching on the blade and a few little patina spots. I like my brass aged no matter the co...

Re: Lube and Oil $3.50
That knife was done for TEDA (Tool & Equipment Distributors Associates) in 1990, it's one of a three knife series started on 1989, each one featuring a mechanic working on a car. There were approximately 1100 knives made in each set. Nice example! Eric  The things that the membership her...
