Thankyou for replying, I still do not know the maker but agree it is a beutifull knife and does lock and unlock like you say, it is quite old and would like to know how old, I also have an old French navaja also, thankyou,

Hi done research on this French (navaja) and Ed mongin was a French knife maker and apparently Navaja, s where not only made in Spain but also in France and Italy incase you where unaware of that, Also many foreign ships used to visit Gibraltar.

I think if any were it would be the bottom horn handled one but ime not sure because some information about horn handled khukri with brass fittings are tourist knives but I feel that this one could be genuine .I think it's about the time of the Falklands.The top one is napaleese 1860-1880.working do...

I now have an answer for the question I was asking.it's a Mk1 khukri 1904-1915.quite hard to come by apparently.Here are my other khukri including my latest one.

Blade length=34 cm handle= 10cm drop=9cm o/a length=45•5cm belly 6•5cm width 1cm width at belly= 6mm.haven't got any scales to weigh it though.hope this will help in my quest for an answer.thanks.
