Re: Henckels 'Double Gunstock' Office Pen
I was going by the yellowing of the handles w/ them being similar to my Case Office Pen w/ celluloid imitation ivory scales. It could be real ivory, and hope that it is, but am not going to ruin the pristine of it w/ the hot pin test tho'..

Re: Case?
That is a good example of 'imitation bone' handles; didn't know Utica made it for Case tho'; which is probably correct, for those were made for the war effort-WW2 , and the demand was really high and production was not able to keep up, so Case probably got Utica to help them out w/ the order. it was...

Re: Cattaraugus WW1 Rope knives
My 4th Edition of 'The Standard Knife Collector's Guide" by Ritchie and Stewart has a wonderful listing of what the pattern numbers should be, and I have noticed a lot of Catt's that don't have the correct pattern number, the blade & bolster numbers along w/ the handle material number will ...

Re: Info on italian switchblade
pg.104 of 'Switchblades of Italy' by Zinser, Fuller, and Punchard in the Chapter titled 'Indiana Cutlery and the 1960's; there is a photo of one with a description beside it that reads " This knife has an unusual variation of the deerfoot bolster and uses a fulcrum release. It dates from the 19...

Re: Cattaraugus Question???
It's 3-3/8" closed, believe it is the real deal, because there are no liner gaps, and the blades are tight and snap open/close like a gator. The main clip blade instead if the usual spear on Equal Ends threw me off, but have found other examples of it, since last post on this Cattaraugus 22579,...

Cattaraugus Question???
Just landed this this 22579 and wonder if it is real or a parts knife. Am really new to Cattaraugus, and have been seeing stories of them being remade from leftover parts, and wonder if this is one of those, because it has a clip main blade, when I think it is suppose to have a spear main blade, tha...

Thanks, for the info or insight, but it has NO Etch, just the 'crowned Q' tang stamp.

Re: Cattaraugus? Looking for info
we figure out what the pattern # is by what the knife is.. 1st# is # of blades;2nd# is placement of bolsters; 3rd & 4th #'s are pattern; and the last # is handle material; by the photo of it in your hand I have deduced it to being a 22949-2= blades, 2 =bolsters, 94=big equal end pen; and 9=bone,...

Queen #20 -1932-1955
Found this Queen #20 Texas toothpick in a pawn shop, and it has the 1932-1955 'Q only' tang stamp, but I am unsure of the handle material and approximate value. it looks to be bonestag or 2nd cut stag to me, I don't have many Queen's and the books I have basically is all about winterbottom and Rodge...
