Hi Texas Red, Randy here. The snappys usually came from the factory with a small bead chain attached. That is what the small hole near the rear pin is for. Happy collecting!

Re: Anyone familiar with the Remington BSA Scout Knife?

Hi, Randy here. your knife is not worth a lot of money due to broken punch and the main blade being sharpened way down. Nice bone on it though. Maybe $30.00 or so value

Re: Remington switch knife

Hi Stumpstalker, remington did indeed offer several models of switch blades. They were contract knives from schrade cutlery. Production was period 1930's. they are desirable to collectors. The knife you pictured is very desired but your knife is not in the best of condition. Like other knives, condi...

Re: Finally scored a Queen Steel Jet 10 year hunt is over

Hello, Kramersknife, Randy here. Nice knife you have there. Queen applied for the patent in 1948 and was granted the patent in 1950. There are 2 versions of your knife. Yours with a safety and another without. I would say 1948 to 1958 were the years they were made. Mint retail around $400.00 dollars...

Hi Steelie, Randy here. your knife with the tang stamp I believe the handle is not synthetic but bone. It is called winterbottom bone. Queen used a ton of winterbottom on their early fixed blades as well as folding pocket knives also. Best regards, Randy

Hi sir, I also believe your knife was made by kinfolks. I have a BG 12 model with yellow translucent handles. Also kinfolks used a lot of aluminum guards on their contract knives. Also my sheath is identical to yours. best regards, Randy

Very nice, Bladecollector! I have only one pearl lobster and it's a remington with milled liners also. How many years did it take you to put all those pearls together? I like schrades also. But everyone else does too. Nice ones are getting scarce and pricey and the craftsmanship is top quality. Than...
