Great song lyrics

How about a thread with our favorite lyrics! I thought of this today while listening to some great music on Sirius XM station Willie’s Roadhouse, so the first that come to mind are some humorous ones I heard today. Feel free to post song lyrics - funny, thoughtful, clever, whatever, from any musical...

Re: Unknown Case XX cigar stockman pattern

In the TESTED XX era the 090 was a small lobster pattern, or alternately a 3-3/8 inch scout/utility “Junior scout” in both a three-blade and four-blade version. I don’t think the 090 existed at all in the XX era through the 1980s, then was re-introduced as the frame for the Case Jr. scout pattern at...

Re: Help identifying Case knife

Sorry to say I believe it’s a “frankenknife” at best, and a counterfeit. The tang shows evidence of having been grinded down to remove the original stamp, so the Case Tested stamp could be applied. The corners of the letters in the tang stamp are not sharp and square, so it’s likely a “cold stamp” (...

Something most of us missed: the Rangers and D-backs gave their clubhouse personnel full shares of World Series money. For the Rangers attendants it was over half-million dollars each! https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/world-series-champs-made-sure-beloved-clubhouse-attendants-got-a-505k-bonus-li...

Re: Case Fiberloid? Scout

It is indeed an odd one. Somewhere I have one of these red fiberloid Case scout patterns with a bolsters and a clip master blade. Pretty rare to see a scout/utility pattern with a clip master, so I’ve always been skeptical of it (else I’d claim it as being a rare find). I think I posted it som...

Re: Peachseed Bone on Cattaraugus knives??

Just my nickel's worth. Here's an ULSTER cattle knife with really nice, peach seed jigging. J.O'. J.O., I’m not a Schrade expert, nor Ulster either, but I believe that your peach seed Ulster was probably made in the Schrade factory. As I understand it, after Schrade bought out Ulster, in the late 1...

Great finds. I’ve often wondered why more physician’s knifes were not made with corkscrews, given that so many medicines back in the day came in bottles having stoppers. ::shrug::

Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

Some interesting info about last night’s Astros/Rangers game. I’ve seen a lot of baseball - Angel Hernandez has to be the absolute worst umpire in history. How he keeps a job is a mystery. He single-handed called Wyatt Langford out with the bases loaded, when not a single pitch was anywhere near the...

Re: Please Help Identify My Knife

Nice find! Too bad it’s in such poor condition but it’s a fairly obscure stamp, dates to 1872-1888 according to Goins’ Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings . The Naugatuck Valley in Connecticut was once a hotbed of cutleries, due the ample availability of water power energy necessary at the time to run ...

Sorry to hear of your ordeal Mark but glad you figured out the problem. In my experience the best resource for medication side effects and possible interactions is a good pharmacist.

I had a similar tool that was part of my Dietzgen draftsman instruments set in the 1960s. Used for erasing on ink drawings. Eventually of course manual “drafting” was replaced by computer graphics but that was not until many years later. Not saying your “eraser” isn’t that old.

Hopefully someone that can tell you about the knife will be along. Read here for answers to your questions about cleaning it....
