Just wanted to comment on that being just a really gorgeous piece.
If the divorce wouldn't end up costing me more than the knife, I'd be going for it.
Best of luck with your sale. Someone will get a nice knife.

Being located in Nebraska, Western knives were quite common here when I was a kid, and were sold just about everywhere.

Re: Liner lock, frame lock, axis lock?
Your going to get a ton of differing view point as everyone tends to have they're favorites. There are pages and pages of discussion on this topic. It's going to be a tough call as I think every locking system out there has its proponents and detractors. Myself, of the ones you mentioned, I do not c...

What year about would you out on that Charlie?
I know it's hard to pin it for sure a Robeson, I'm just curious as to when it may have been crafted. So many companies made so many similar contract pieces.

Re: Robeson National Cash Register Coin Knife
Ok, that makes sense Charlie. I search as well for the terms you've mentioned for the most part, but not for "coin knife". I may need to find a decent example of one just to have one in the collection as an example. As in another thread that was discussing rulers with a knife blade. Could ...

Re: Robeson National Cash Register Coin Knife
Just curious Charlie - what search term are you using for finding those?
I tried a couple different terms and didn't see anything. Doubt I'd buy one as they aren't my cuppa tea, but am always interested in more knowledge.
Thanks!

I seem to recall as a child my father using knives similar to that in his woodworking messing around. He always scrounged old knives from farm sales and whatnot that he'd use.
Pretty cool knife though for sure.

Robeson John Deere Advertising Knife just sold.
Ok guys, I'm hoping for a bit more education on this Robeson piece that just sold on eBay for $1076.
Is it the rarity, John Deere collectors, or what, that drove this knife up so high?
Just really curious on what made this particular knife that valuable.
Yikes!! That's a lot of bucks.

Lol - I told my wife just to go to Home Depot or wherever, get an empty fridge box, shove me in the box and just roll me off into a ditch somewhere out in the country.
She just looked at me and said "ok".

Hi guys -
I know these are pretty scarce and I think about everyone is looking for one, but I thought I'd just ask if anyone has an old used one or something that's still sound they may want to part with.
Thanks! Joe

Sadly, mainly due to people being unable to look past the 15 minute news cycle, we are very much likely to face more days like 9/11. And our current crop of political correct politicians are the enablers.
Pray for our country indeed. We are going to need all the help we can get.

They're going to be some nice knives. I've one of Evans's early modded knives (among a few others) he made for me with that sculpted bolster and he really has something going with those. They're just pretty cool to look at. He's become quite talented in a relatively short period of time. The new own...

Re: Ima wearing Corporal Agarns' F-Troop hat
Boy, I have to tell you, being not very well versed in the older knife models in general, it looked ok to me. Makes me a bit paranoid about buying on there. I guess perhaps it'd be wise to have you guys look it over first before I'd bid on one of these that are kinda spendy. I was burned once on a f...
