It really has been dry to we do need it, but I've really been enjoying the Spring weather.m sure the mosquitos will enjoy the rain and repopulate our area. Yesterday we sa...

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY

Picked up at a gun/knife show today, a Kelly How. Thomson probably made by Napanoch, a Ulster and a nice gun holster, $35 total for the two knives and $20 for the holster.____Dave Great score for you, Dave, ya done good. In your 2nd picture, did you consciously position your knife on that place on ...

Re: First Cup Diner!

Good morning. I can't believe 2024 is almost 1/3rd over already. Time sure does fly and I'm not even having that much fun. The weather has been amazing and I got a lot done this weekend on my yard. The flower bulbs are just peaking out of the ground but the grass hasn't even started to show up yet. ...

Re: Two Hard To Find Antique Knife Patterns

Awesome pair of knives. I love finding any NYK knives but especially Marshall Wells ones because they started out just down the road from my home. I've never seen a MW DR's knife, not to mention one with a cork screw.____Dave

Good morning. Not so much in Israel. It appears end times are getting closer by the day. It might be a really good time to head for your local church this morning to worship. It sure is a beautiful morning here and was amazing yesterday with temps around 70 and full sunshine. I got a ton of stuff do...

Re: How do you polish horn scales?

I'm anxious to see what the knife makers and repairmen recommend you to do, but in the meantime, I'm curious if the knife is an old one, one you made or a recent made one you bought new with the issue that bothers you. Some old German ones I have came that way and I wouldn't mess with them because c...

Good morning. Good luck Scott at the sales. I checked out today's auction yesterday afternoon and there was nothing I needed and the few knives they had weren't worth bidding on, so I guess I'm staying home today. I might cook up a batch of Scandinavian potato dumplings with the ham hocks I bought f...

Re: First Cup Diner!

Good morning Chris and all who follow. The weather up here has been really nice. Spring seems to be coming in with a breeze with mild temps, soft winds mostly, and little mild rain clouds maybe once a day with gentle rain. A few of the trees are just starting to bud. The ticks are out, but the mosqu...

Good morning. Spring is still hanging around with mild temps and little afternoon showers possible. Yesterday was really nice and we got a lot of work done but didn't quite finish the little job we slipped in before starting a bigger one. Not much else planned for the day. I might check out an aucti...

Good morning Coffee's on and a beautiful day appears to be brewing. I heard rumors that we may be into the 60's today. The Robins are back and a few of the trees are starting to bud and the pussy willows are out so it appears we are into an early spring. The last snowfall is already gone except for ...

Good morning. Another overcast day in store for us. Yesterday we got a full day of light much needed rain. Good morning. The gun/knife show yesterday was good and filled a good sized conference hall and a side room. I found a Kelly Howell Thomson gunstock pattern Rosewood(I think) 3 blade, 3 spring laid out like a whittler likely made by Napanoch for $25 in really nice condition. Kelly How, Thomson or &q...

Re: First Cup Diner!

Good morning. I'm off to a gun show about an hour away with one of my sons. This one could be a step up from the little ones around here that take 5 minutes to realize there's nothing to buy. Yesterday I spent 4 hours with my neighbor friend to dig through 1&1/2 safes explaining what some of the...

Re: Help ID Cool Antique Patina'd Pocket Knife

Nice old Union Cutlery knife. Yeah it's too bad about the fork tang. It appears to me from the pictures that one side is stag and the other is jigged bone and the four pieces of handle material have aged differently to give the different colors. I'm guessing that maybe the two halves were switched s...

Dale, both you and Alyson are still on my prayer list and will be until God's plan for all this is shown. It sure can get discouraging when His plan doesn't appear to follow ours, but ours would be what His is if we knew all He knows about us and how His perfect plan plays out. God only has our best...
