Made by Queen Cutlery, they did a bunch of different variation knives with the Robeson name on them. 2003 as stamped.

Pretty inconceivable for any knife to have early Rogers jig bone on a modern knife, fake or not. Rogers started jigging bone in 1891.

Re: tang stamp
I think that because of the lack of pins near the bolsters that the knife was made by Bear and Sons. They started around 1990. The lack of pins near the bolsters was a standard practice of theirs at one point and maybe still is. If the knife was an older pattern made by Remington themselves it surel...

I waited too long and this one got by me. ::dang:: 😡 I'm posting this for posterity and for future reference. It is a two blade "ALLEN." It is maker stamped on the handle. The knife is NOT mine. The pictures are NOT mine. The pictures are the seller's (ok to post per AAPK's Scott, a.k.a. ...

Re: Schrade 293 or 294?
It seems over the years that there was nothing surprising coming out of the Schrade factory. I have several models that blades have been interchanged during manufacturing. "It is what it is" as they say.

Re: Schrade 293 or 294?
The Schrade 293 is indeed a two blade trapper. One spey and one clip blade. The 294 is one clip and one pen blade. clips were the same usually on the 293 and 294. Blades were just used in different frames, if the factory had run dry on a certain pattern.

Knife collecting talk is not dead, Including England too. Facebook pages are covered with knife collector groups from many countries. Not forums as per a web site maybe, but a flourishing interest nonetheless.

The wood on the battleship knives is also from the ships. In the case of the USS Texas it's teak from the decks.

Re: Look Mom I Cobbled a Canal Street
I think if you look closely, the knife is lit from above and the cut out for the shield has a shadow inside the cut out making it appear off center. looks like the knife has been out in he rain, worm holes are legit as in other knives they made with the reclaimed wood.

I would say N for New York Knife. NYKC started in Walden in 1856 previous to that in Mattewan NY. closed up in 1931. Hard to say exact year of manufacture.

There seems to be a difference in “best offer” And “make offer”. With best offer it seems from my experience, that the seller wants more than his starting bid. ::shrug:: ::shrug:: Best offer sellers seem to be willing to take a bit less than their posted price. Usually 10% less than their posted pri...
