Thirty Year Old Colonel Coons

In 1982 Adrian Harris at Tennessee Knife Works made me some Colonel Coon knives. Today 30 years later, I sold five of them stag handle congress and stockman pattern's for $100 each! Did I do ok? The Coon's in the picture are all I have left!

ago from a knife collector of renown!

Re: What Is Your "Holy Grail" Knife

Maybe not a "Holy Grail" knife, but certainly one of my favorites is this pearl screw on handles by Miller Bros. It has beautiful pearl and does not appear to be used. I bought it about thirty years ago from Joe Lauderdale (Widow Creek Knives).

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?

Today I am carrying a John Primble No. 731 ~~ Glad I was a fellow had a splinter in his thumb this morning and he could not get it out with his EDC ~~ He asked for a sharp blade and I handed him this old worn out thing and in a jiffy he had the splinter out!

A friend asked about this knife...he said an uncle gave it to him several years ago and he knows nothing about it, except the blades are very hard to open and they show use. The tang stamp appears to have Joseph Rodgers on it??? What do you ladies and gentlemen of AAPK think???[/attachment] Ross-1.j...

It says BUCK WHITTAKER and the small blade locks.
What would this be used for? It appears to be some

Case walnut handle 11031 SH ~ Anyone know how many of these Case put in a box for shipping to dealers?
One man said six per box, another says he bought a box of twelve in the 1970's and paid approximately four dollars each for the knives.

Schrade Ky Rifle knife

I have read that the Schrade Kentucky Rifle knife ~ is credited with being the knife that started collecting the way it is today. Is this true? Was is A.G. Russell who had Schrade make the knives? What year were they made? What handle material was used?

The knife in the picture is probably a Bear & Bull or at least one of the German made knives...judging from the Solingen shield. I have a congress with the same markings and the same imitation pearl handles.
