Re: New Queen cutlery knife!!
Your #83 is a Schatt & Morgan. The #38 is a Queen. Both use the copperhead bolster design and a swell center. Basically the same knife.

Treefarmer is correct. It's a #38. The pattern is a swell center.

If your knife measures 4.5", I believe it's a model 28 (if it has 2 blades).
The model 23 is a Barlow.

Re: Queen City with early thumb stud
I've never seen that before. The lack of a nail nick tells be it might be factory made. The Queen Cutlery gurus might have the answer. I'd reach out to Queen Cutlery History.

Re: Queen #10 - No Tang Stamp
BDev, great collection! I was sort of expecting a barehead in that pattern... Great knife to collect because it was such a useful knife! I did have a barehead but purchased it after that picture. Queen Cutlery Guide did an article about two of my #10's. This barehead and a Ben Rocklin SFO tang stam...

Re: Queen #10 - No Tang Stamp
You are correct. 1961 to 71.
The handles are Delrin.
I used to collect the #10 a few years back. Here's a pic that you might like.

Yeah and I miss you my Queen knife brother. Always enjoy your post. ::handshake:: Thanks bighomer. Had a good time collecting knives and especially enjoyed the members of this forum. When GEC became overly popular and flippers were buying them to score big profits, I knew the end for me was near. T...

I believe that 2012 Queen City English Jack was a SFO for Collectorknives.com. I bought a few from CK and they all had that tang stamp.

I'd guess 1945-55. There is a tang stamp with the crown over Q in the charts.

Re: Help with ID on two new to me.
These are legit Queen knives. The 93 is the year they were made. I have one of the folding hunters and three or four of the smaller ones. I call the smaller one a copperhead pattern for my own purposes. If someone has the proper designation by Queen please feel free to chime in. I'm not sure what t...

Re: Help with ID on two new to me.
Note: This response was incorrect. Please see my other response below. 1993 was the year the blades were made but both knives look to be newly made from old stock blades. The large one is a Folding Hunter. Don't know about the smaller one. I don't recall Queen making a push button lock of that type....

Can't help you any further with narrowing down the date of your #77 but I pulled the pic below from the QueenCutleryHistory.com.

The tang stamp is correct. The chart is not complete.garddogg56 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 1:49 am For me my first Queen a 9140 from 83 I've allways liked Gunstocks and she was priced right.I do have a question.
Does the tand stamp look right? The tang crown doesn't match the tang chart.

Your knife is a pattern #95 made circa 1952-55. It has Winterbottom bone handles. It's definitely worth more than 20 bucks.

Would be interesting to know what year they began using these handles as opposed to real bone. ::hmm:: 003.JPG Treefarmer Queen started using Delrin in 1972. They called it "Queen Stag". Info from my catalog research...... Bone Stag (Rogers) appears in catalog 1947,49,50 Frontier bone sta...

We need more info. What does it measure in the closed position? Also a close up of the tang stamp. Edit: If it measures 4.5" closed, it is a pattern #37. If it is 3.25", it's a pattern 38. Both patterns are a serpentine stockman. Can't be sure about the tang stamp but I would say your knif...

Bighomer... That barehead #10 jack is a rare knife. Here's some text I received from Robert Welch (he got it from David Clark) from an email back in November of 2019. "I've seen some factory records from the WWII years that indicate Queen City made 12,784 doz. #10 pattern with rough black handl...

Ridgegrass, I love those 2 knives! What pattern # are those Queens? I would guess the single blade is a #11 but what about the one with the broken blade? Hi treefarmer.... The one with the broken blade is a #24 slim trapper. I do believe the handles are Winterbottom bone. Q, if some one had asked m...

Looks like it was made after Queen closed their doors.
