Re: Are any Traditional Slipjoints still Made in the UK?

In 2014 I had the pleasure of meeting Trevor Ablett and Ray Cooper at their shop in Sheffield. I'm pleased to see that Michael May is continuing the tradition of making hand made pocket knives...he mentions on his website that he bought a lot of equipment from Trevor Ablett when Trevor retired. chee...

Re: Corn Knives and Razors

I think I may have one. It's a Demuth...and I have seen other knives with this name referenced to Muller & Schmidt of Germany. Looks like it may have dealt with a few corns in its life. cheers

Re: J Nowill & Sons Boy Scouts of Canada.

I haven't had any luck finding out information about Boys Scouts of Canada knife commissions. There is absolutely no information on the net, and recently at a community event where the Boy Scouts had a huge display...all I got was blank stares. Anyway, this knife was made by C.J. Johnson Western Wor...

Re: Premium Stock Knife Information

That looks similar to a knife that I have. The only mark on the tang is Italy, which may be what the stylized tang stamp on yours says. The only anomoly for me is that there is no 'k' in the Italian alphabet, so I would wonder if CK was an Italian company. Cheers

Re: Seen This Case Bone Before?

I went the same thought process with this one...I thought it was wood at first, but I think it's 'peach bone' ? I bought it at a sporting store and the guy had no idea about knives so he was no help. cheers

Here's one that I found a few years ago, but the scrimshaw is pretty well worn off. Is it considered scrimshaw if it isn't etched or carved deeply? cheers

Re: $3.00 Joseph Rodgers, what would you do?

It's some kind of synthetic plastic i think. In terms of the age, im having a hard time pinning it down.
The Rodgers information is all over the board and you would think that it would be easier because of the stamping variations. Would love to hear from someone who knows the dating better.
