Re: Are These Meteorites?
Digging in midden(trash) mounds is fun and can be lucrative. However, stealing is not the way to go about life. I would have to actually see the helmet in the ground to believe they got it from a midden. A cave, maybe. Many ranchers around Texas charge a day fee to dig/search middens. Musket balls, ...

Re: Are These Meteorites?
The interesting ones that I kept. Lower left is one that I imagine was a worry stone. Found it on the ground polished to a shine. Has not rusted or tarnished. About 1.5in long The lighter color rusty looking one is part of a hollow iron concretion. Streak tests lighter color rust. These won't polish...

Closest correct pronunciation would be- Seek-ah-treezs.
The T has a slight TH sound.

Re: Are These Meteorites?
They look a lot like what I find around different ranches. Low grade Hematite. I have also found a few iron concretions. Most are solid, a few are hollow. Mine are not attracted to a magnet. Try doing a streak test. Use an unglazed piece of white porcelain. Like the underside of toilet lid, backside...

Re: Help ID Forged Fixed Blade
This looks like half of a set of Sheffield made shears.
Maybe sheep shears, probably garden shears.
Someone turned a broken shear into a knife.
Common and very useful. Even here in Texas.

Re: Mini Copperhead in SS
Occasionally I buy from ebay.
It's usually as a last resort. Paypal is not our friend.
I like to see what the forum members might have first.
There might be something that I have they would like to trade for. Win, Win!
Thanks for the help and link.

Mini Copperhead in SS
Howdy
I'm looking for a Case Mini Copperhead in SS.
This pattern is one of my favorites.
I have one in CV but I have to oil it all the time because of sweat causing it to rust.
Bone handle preferred but not absolutely necessary.
I have a few knives to trade or may consider buying.
Thanks
Cicatriz

Thanks Dale.
Yep, scales are in great shape.
One question though-
Is it better for the spring to store with the blades open?

Schrade Cut. Co. Push Button
New to me. Through some reading I believe this is a 741...? Blades appear factory sharp with some use. Everything works as it should. Very little surface rust that oil and a rag took care of. Fun little knife. Blades pop out and lock really well. Spring is in great shape. Maybe some of y'all will en...

Help with ID please.
Hey guys, I'm needing some help with ID, age and possibly value on these little colorful girls. Any information would be greatly appreciated. They are not mine, I'm just helping an acquaintance out. Looks like a sowbelly pattern to me but I'm not sure... http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2834/9779829841...

Re: Piano key ivory.
The pieces are all pencil numbered from left to right. Most still have the cloth backer and some have some wood on the back. All of the fine measurements were taken with calipers and do not include the cloth or wood. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8366/8386940303_8453936e32_c.jpg http://farm9.staticf...
