Maybe sheep shears, probably garden shears.

This pattern is one of my favorites.
I have one in CV but I have to oil it all the time because of sweat causing it to rust.

Bone handle preferred but not absolutely necessary.

Is it better for the spring to store with the blades open?

New to me. Through some reading I believe this is a 741...? Blades appear factory sharp with some use. Everything works as it should. Very little surface rust that oil and a rag took care of. The pieces are all pencil numbered from left to right. Most still have the cloth backer and some have some wood on the back.
