Now here's an oldie but goodie!!
The ole' baseball bat (the only thing missing is the chain and baseball) !! ::ds::
We also made, the old bowling pin and chain with a small black bowling ball!
These were both made in the mid 60's to the early 70's.. ::tu::

Re: PALCO Forest Master? Who's PALCO?

Wow!! I'm afraid to jump into this snake pit right here! ::uc:: ::undecided:: I am convinced that Colonial made these knives with private labeling many years ago! They were also made before I came active in the assemble room in the early 70's. That makes perfect sence since these knive's we are talk...

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em

Greetings Cato.!! ::handshake::
This very much looks like our old Colonial hatchet and knife combo!
I can't see the tang and many other company's made this type of camp combo's.
If it's a Colonial it's production date would be early 50's or 60's>

Re: Chased Bolsters,Pretty Handles & Great Blade Grinds.Gone

Hey there Dinadan, very pretty little Case you've got there, nice score !! ::tu:: The bolster's look to me like they have been "Lazar etched" , Sweet! The blade etching is probably a system that involves electricity, acid and other chemicals. We had a very similar set up at Colonial.... We...

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em

Very nice my friend! These are our old # 4602, two blade jack knife..
The solid pin and bolster construction tells a bit about it's age!

The brown stain applied to the plastic handles varied for many years...
I would date these around the early 50's.....
Nice score... ::tu:: ::tu::

Hello Gail.... :) Like I said before; just because there is no mention of the Amoroso name in my book doesn't mean it didn't exist! Here is a page from my book and I think you'd be very interested in it. Because our forefathers were obviously partners in the pocket knife industry, I've decided to se...

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em

Very nice pal!! Our old # 2632 two blade jack... :wink:
Even though it's a shell knife it's in beautiful shape, probably
made in the late 50's and the long pull on the master blade
is a dead give away!! It's a keeper for sure.. ::tu:: ::tu::

Hey Stac'....Very good question my friend and you just happened to ask the right guy for the right answer.. Let's start here. Every and any stockman or jack knife type ever made consists of two "pin on" rivets, located near the bolster's. Some folks use glue, others, use different applicat...

Re: 2 different color covers on 1 #530 stockman

Yup! Got it now....it was a bad angle of the pocket blade before!! Sorry for doubt, sir...It's definately a Colonial # 530 Old Cutler and it was either custom made at the factory or after it was purchased...this particular knife may be rare but was NEVER mass produced by us!
