Hey Boker folks, what is the best adhesive to reinstall a shield on a Boker knife? Was thinking Super glue gel?

Thanks Ranger, good to see you are still here as a Boker resource. He told me he cleaned it up a little and got a partial pattern number bit it started with 59 or 58 cannot recall. That makes more sense now

Can you help me with this one?
Been a while since I have been here, wonder if I could tap those Boker minds out there. This is a knife a friend from church has asked me about. Cannot make out blade stamp but it sure looks like a Boker 6006 to me. Is there other manufacturers that made similar knives?

Re: GEC Factory tour
Took the drive to Titusville early this year. Mr Howard gave me and wife a tour. Two things amazed me, one was the young girl at the end of the process that sharpened knives by hand and the fact that Mr Howard took my 42 pattern to take blade play out of and then realized it was my carry knife. He s...

Dale, I think that is my point. I never knew the man but if he was a collector and a knowledgeable one, he would not own some of the junk that is being passed off as HIS collection. It seems to me this person, to be polite, is trying to cash in on a dead mans name and it makes me sick. I guess its a...

RED, absolutely NOT, you were not wrong. It chaps me like a bad saddle what goes on in the knife world to hide the country of origin. YES this guy is a shyster but I gotta say BOKER aint much better. I received their new catalog the other day and saw how they down play the Chinese connection with th...

Re: First Pocket Knife...What was it?
Good thread, My first knife was a Boker small stockman with the obligatory missing shield. Long since lost but I wish I had it now, not that the value would be any higher. Dad handed me that when I was just a shaver, and I will never forget it. I guess it started me down this road somehow.

Dale,
You might try a saddle stitch and burnish the edges, it would look great and stiffen the edge a bit. You can buy a stitch wheel and awl pretty cheap and that makes sowing a lot easier. sorta like this.

Re: Real Steal knife pass around.
ok, Took this knife to work and am ready to review it, REAL STEEL are ya listening? Positives Like I said before, the blade is very well made and holds a great edge. BIG PLUS for any knife. After an adjustment of the pivot screw the blade wobble is gone and the knife is very tight, I feel very confi...

Re: Real Steal knife pass around.
Ok, day two. Phone still down, replacement tomorrow so no pics. This little fella is growing on me. Took it to the shop and with a torx bit and a bit of Loctite reset the blade. She is tighter than Dicks hatband and rides right in the center, and the best way to open her is to bump her off the stop ...

Re: Fight Cabin Fever Let's Swap Some #&%@ POS Roundtable
Well better late than never I guess. Received my pile from DAVE O and spent the last couple of days wondering what I ever did to him. One lovely stockman that try as I did, could not identify, One little H Boker half congress that's well loved but has great half stops and snaps like a mouse trap, On...

Seems to me the biggest obstacle is that you cannot, or I cannot, post pics from my own PC to the chat room. Fix that and it is possible, btw I MISS the Thursday auction.

Re: What's wrong with the knives made in China?
I'm not saying your GECs will be worthless, but chances are, since no one is going to use one as a screwdriver, there will still be a lot of pristine examples around 20yrs from now. One thing for sure, 20 years from now GECs will be high quality well made knives don't know if they will be worth more...
