Re: Some eBay buyers/sellers are LOWER THAN LOW
That's doubly low Steve. You try your best to be honest and treat buyers as you would want to be treated but when you are selling to a dishonest buyer all bets are off. 7-10 days should be long enough for a buyer to decide if they are happy with a purchase. 30 days is long enough for a dishonest buy...

Re: Blade cleaning
What I would use to clean depends on the amount of cleaning that needs to be done. I really don't much care for cleaned knives but sometimes I will clean a knife if the appearance of the knife is so bad I think it can be improved with some cleaning. If you are trying to maintain contours and grind l...

Ugly revolving door of eBay
Here is what I am quite sure is the same Robeson knife that is okay except for the fact that the handles are not correct or original for the knife. It is now up for sale on eBay for the third time with a significant price increase on each sale. The block letter stamp on this knife is normally dated ...

Re: Identify grandad’s knife
Your knife is a model 147 that originally came as a sheathed set with a marlin spike for knot work and rigging. Though meant to be a marine use knife set the steel obviously worked well for a hunting knife. Earlier models had ebony handles ands later handles were walnut.

Re: Identify Bluefield HDWE pocket knife ?
Great information Cody! Very cool old equal end 4 1/4" cigar jack! Certainly has an early 1900's look to it. Since this is a hardware concern it would make sense the the knife was made on contract by a larger knife manufacturing company. Many old companies made this type of large ebony handled ...

If I was a counterfeiter and was going to use my fake Randall stamp on a folding knife I don’t think I’d use it on that knife.

Looks like a green Rogers bone. I looked at it on eBay and looks like it's been cleaned up some otherwise I can't say anything looks wrong about it.

Re: Where to start with this "Case" Barlow...
Since I put the OP Barlow on my eBay watch list I received a "Buy It Now" offer from the seller for $750. That's a pretty heavy discount of $245 for a knife for a knife he had priced at $995. Had he originally priced the knife at $245 and offered me $245 discount I don't think I would be i...

Re: ? About older Camillus
I agree with Eric on the pull location. The shield is one I associate with Cattaraugus and I don't remember ever seeing it on a Camillus knife. One bladed jacks with regular frames (other than Barlows, boy's knives) are not all that common and often deserve an extra look. Regular frame jack knives b...

Ferric chloride may darken it but it may also darken everything else you don't want darkened. It would help to have a picture of the knife you are talking about and to know the type of steel.

Re: Where to start with this "Case" Barlow...
This knife with about 1/2 of the blade missing is described as very nice. How do you think a blade in the well pic would look for this knife?

Re: Where to start with this "Case" Barlow...
Very unusual for this seller to even show the "blades in the well" picture as most of his overly cleaned knives do not look as good as this reworked OP Barlow when it comes to blade length. How do you think a blades in the well pic would look on this knife he has for sale? He says the knif...

Re: Where to start with this "Case" Barlow...
This seller consistently sells very heavily cleaned and reworked knives for crazy prices. His descriptions are always brief and most everything he sells is "nice" in his opinion.100% positive feedback speaks for a large number of buyers that don't know any better.

There are hundreds of knives for sale on eBay with incorrect descriptions but that doesn't necessarily make the knives counterfeits. This knife is correct the description isn't. Not a counterfeit knife.

Winst, I am not really sure what you are asking. Are you talking about the frame for the 5 1/8" flat ground blade ?0050 pattern that doesn't have the copperhead type bolster? If so my answer would be no, that frame should not have a XX stamped blade. If not I am unaware of a different type fram...
