I picked mine when I had my Jeep. I used to ride the mountains quite a bit so it became trail rider and my birth year.

I was wandering if there is anything you need to do to mammoth ivory to help preserve it. I use renwax on my knives but I was not sure if it was ok to use on that. I was thinking China the first time I seen them on ebay. Kind of like the knives that were "designed" in Kentucky. It does seem to be very misleading.

Usually for work I have a 08 Case Sodbuster Jr. or a 08 Case 18 pattern stockman. Depending on where I am going my carry is either a H&R small congress, Gerber E-Z Out, or a Kershaw Scallion.

I agree, buy what you like. To me it don't matter what the steel is. I collect all brands. I never could settle on one pattern so I just buy whatever looks good to me. If you pick up a knife and later decided to sell it and turn a profit, then thats good. I think if you collect only for this purpose...
