Re: Harvest Time Knives!!
Nice posts Jerry and Phillip, very cool to see what others are doing around the country. I have ten different varieties of heirloom indeterminate tomatoes going, some favorites and a few "new to me"'s. The harvest of sugar snap peas is slowing down with the hot weather, but the serviceberr...

Thanks for the comments on the scrimshaw fellas I appreciate it.
Topdogg I like that Schrade, looks to be in pretty good shape, and the Turkish clip or muskrat clip blade is a great slicer.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Nice pickups from the Badger show Ripster. I was able to make it down there on Sunday, lots of great stuff. Some of the asking prices on the older knives were pretty high, but that's how it goes. I have long been an admirer of nautical themed books, artwork etc, and always wanted to pick up a scrims...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I've been carrying the Case CV mini muskrat this past week. I used to think of it as my Christmas knife due to the red bone, but I really live this pattern and find myself slipping it in my pocket throughout the year. I like the serpentine shape, the fact that the tang ends don't protrude up much ab...

Those Bench Mark knives are new to me, never seen one before so thanks for pulling them out. Never heard of the "Rolox" system either, can't really picture how it works

Re: Old clocks - who likes ‘em?
I don't know anything about old clocks, but that one sure is cool! I can't tell how big it is by the picture, what are the dimensions? Does it have an audible "tic tock" to it, or is it silent?
Thanks for posting it, I like it very much.

Carried this old XX USA whittler today for a walk in the woods. Great snap on all the blades, no wobbles, feels really stout for a smaller sized knife.

Wow, I just scrolled through two pages of cool photos, really nice pics guys. Here's one I took this afternoon. That old Case red bone has such a "classic" pocket knife look to it in my opinion. Kinda like a little piece of Americana.

Welcome aboard!
I believe the knife in the pic is a Schrade + LB7, not a Buck 110. That is a fine looking knife though. Perhaps the wrong pic uploaded..?

Re: My Only Colonial
Greetings, that's a nice looking knife. Colonials are hard to date by tang stamps. The really old ones have an arched stamp, which yours doesn't. If I had to guess I would say 50's to 70's maybe? Perhaps someone else can narrow it down better than that.

Here is foreign one that I think is pretty neat just because I had to remember how to get it open. This is not a quick access blade. :D Sharpened a tad. I have one very similar to yours Joe, used to be my grandpa's. Here's a link to a post I made about it a few years ago if anybody is interested ht...

Re: Knives you pulled out "Just Because"
Here's one that I pulled out this morning to ooh and ahh over while I was picking out a carry knife foe the day. It wad a gift from a friend some years ago, the details escape me at the moment, but it's obviously a knapped blade with antler handle. Quite well made and rather a cool piece.

Went for a walk this morning and spent some time hanging out with this old Burr Oak. Of course pictures don't do it justice, but it really is a fine old tree. Re: Buffalo Horn handle question
Update! Bob (Elvis) graciously offered to fix up this handle for me, but when he got it in hand , came to the conclusion that just replacing the scale on that side would be the best course of action. He did so, and here's the result! Obviously I am very happy with it, and tip my hat to a job well do...

Bighead that sowbelly is one fine looking knife, love the bone and long pull, any info on it? Can't see the tang stamp on the main, what era is it from?
Drukai that stag peanut is really nice, I like the color of the stag, the sides are quite nicely matched.

Here's a little "just because" knife that's been in the pile a couple of years now, a bit of an oddity. Actually made by Schrade.

Joe you are blowing my mind here man. Those pics are fantastic, love the way they are staged, the black and grey coloring, and those knives are two more I've never seen before. How does the scale work on the Puma? I assume it involves that ball on the end, and the hole on the blade with a chain or c...

Joe! Just to the right of that I see an image of a quail. Sometimes I'm far too curious. ...

Nice one Dogg, like your Screensaver shot too.
OH that's a solid looking pair of Bucks there. I am carrying this yella rose jack today, inspired by Iman.
A few years back, 2017 maybe, I edc'd this one every day for a year, served me well, still tight and solid as can be.

Here's an old Boker USA peanut that has been enjoying its retirement with me here amongst a few other old 50's era Bokers here in Wisconsin. I like the bone, the grind on the main, as well as the forward placed nail nick. Classy little peanut.
