What's Wrong With This Picture

Something tells me the person who did this was quite proud of themselves. Not mine, but in an auction near me.

I use Ship Station to purchase non eBay labels and I think that info is automatically plugged into PayPal. I've never had an issue.

Re: Case auction knife

I contacted the auction house yesterday afternoon and asked them why they thought this was a Case knife. They said that information was provided by the consignor. It's not uncommon for that to happen. They did add more pictures to the auction. The knife ended up bringing $55 plus about 20% in fees. ...

Re: Case auction knife

I'd bet it isn't Case. My best guess is that the knife is a WW 2 vintage Navy Mark 1. The knife has a steel guard which is a key to war time production. The shape of the pommel suggests manufacture by Geneva Forge. The sheath appears to be original, although left-handed. I guess that is about all I...

Re: Case auction knife

That's what they say in the auction listing and why I posted it on here. The also say this is military. Funny you get "experts" on here admonishing new collectors to learn to read knives and in many of these online auctions you get one picture to make a judgement with. If it's a folding kn...

Case auction knife

In an auction near me that ends soon. Listed as old Case knife with sheath. Comments? I'm thinking this may be a better knife?

You might go to Google and search for old balisong knife then click on images. Look at the pictures that come up and see if you can find something similar to yours, I see a couple that are close.

Re: Chitting potatoes

TY I am by no means a gardening expert. Flying by the seat of my pants here. I read online to rub the eyes off and then expose them to sunlight at least 4 weeks before planting. The sprouts will stay on and be planted 4" deep facing upward. This is supposed to generate larger potatoes. I don't ...

Chitting potatoes

First year for this. I saved these from last year and hope to grow more bigger, baking type potatoes. These are Kennebeck and popular in this area. I also hope to have them in the ground by about Good Friday. Snow Monday, so we'll see. Also save seeds from Zinnias and they are so glorious with all o...

Re: Looking for a pivot that is 0.235" diameter

I was given this tip years ago by Bill Hammons who was a very knowledgeable knife repair person. This 5/0 Taper Pin Reamer, HSS, Straight Flute is an invaluable tool when you have slight variances in the size of the hole and the pin stock. Learn to use the pin reamer and you can make quick correctio...

Not sure, but thought I have seen someplace about forcing patina on stainless steel blades. Can't find anything on that now that I have a knife coming with stainless blades that I would like to put a patina on. ::shrug:: So what is the answer to this question about stainless steel patina? Anybody? ...

Re: Camillus 1969 US

I probably have one. If you post a picture, we can be sure. The thing is the minimum shipping is about $4.50 depending on zip code and you might find one in a junk box at a local flea market or knife show. PM me if you like and we'll go from there.

New Ebay Scammers

I'll pass this along FWIW. I bought a car part on eBay from a seller in China. However, when I received it, the label showed it was shipped from the Amazon Center in Hebron, KY. That's really not unusual. The part was to be NIB, but it was not. It had been opened and came with a set of instructions ...

Great photo! The ladies might also have been on the QC/wipe down/boxing line as well. I've seen a few phots where those departments were filled almost exclusively with women. Much better at the finer points I'm sure. Can you imagine Paul Bunyan there wrapping knives? Dang he must surely have been o...

When the weight of the world gets too heavy for me to carry alone, I often listen to this song. Watch it all the way through to the end. It has got me through a lot of hard times.

Re: Broken Back Spring 1989 Case Trapper

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I should have thought about calling Case first. I have heard they do a pretty good job, and I would think they would cover this under their warranty. I have never used them before, but this may be a good opportunity. Not sure which route I am going to go on cleanin...

If they turn you down pm me and I'll try and help you. Maybe your knife has sentimental value and is special for you, but if it's just an EDC you are going to get more money in shipping alone than it's worth.
