Sodbuster help

I'm looking for some information, and hope you can help. Any and all info is appreciated. IMG_5238.JPG IMG_5239.JPG I believe it to be a 70's era Eye Brand, but not sure. Is this the 3 eye knife? These pics were sent to me, I don't have the knife in hand, so this is all I have to go by. If it is pos...

Re: Got pics of your Boker Barlow?

I'm not sure how long it took, but he carried it daily, and he had it before he gave me mine. It rode in his pocket with coins, keys, and at least one other knife. He had several pocket knives, and by several, I mean it would have been easier to judge his knives by poundage, versus counting them. He...

Re: Got pics of your Boker Barlow?

Here are a few of mine. The top 493 was given to me by my Papaw several years ago, but I don't recall exactly when. His is the well used one, with one of his "mods" he would do. He wanted the point more inline with the handle. They both have 3 brass liners, and 2 pins. Tangs have 493. http...

Re: Slackener..

Here's a stupid question---do you just use one slacking tool when assembling a knife? Meaning, just on one side, or do you use one for each side?

Re: Basic maintenance tips?

WD-40 can be harmfull to knives and handle materials. It really should only be used to help remove rust or free stuck parts. There are many much better products around like mineral oil for just one example that suit a knife lube, or maintain a rust free blade better. ;) do tell. I'm a newbie here.....

Can anyone help?

I have a Boy Scout knife made by Ulster that was given to me after my Papaw died. I don't know the value of this knife, but it doesn't matter as I will be passing it on someday. Problem is, the spring for the blade is broken, and I would like to have it fixed. This is not something I feel comfortabl...

New-to-me Canoe

Found this at a store I haven't been to in awhile. Considering all the rain we've been getting, I thought it appropriate to bring it home with me. Can anyone tell me about it?

Thanks for the welcome. No, I am not a Corpsman, but I have the utmost respect for them. They did everything we did, and fixed us when we were broken. I was an 0331 (machine gunner) in the USMC--grunt. I've been a Flight Paramedic for the last 10 years--medik. When I first got on the internet, grun...

Howdy from another Kentuckian

Howdy from the Louisville area. I'm a Flight Paramedic and former United States Marine. I've had a recent reinterest in traditional knives, and happened upon here due to that. I'm am equal opportunity knifeaholic, ranging from SAK's to Khukuri's, but have turned my focus to the traditional folders--...

Re: best made cinaese made knives

I have several Rough Riders and they are very impressive. I also own a Winchester that is probably more impressive in weight, size and blade sharpness. The RR's and Winchesters are razor sharp straight out of the box. I've been using the Winchester as my EDU for about two weeks now and it is holdin...
