Re: Requesting prayer for my father and the family.
Thank you all for your prayers and your encouraging words. Dad and I were pretty close and I called them almost every day since Mom passed a couple years ago. I know Dad did not fear death, in fact he welcomed it, because it meant he would be reunited with Mom and with the Lord. He looked forward to...

Re: Side to Side Blade Movement on Custom LB when closed
I doubt the pivot pin is worn since I bought it new, but undersized makes sense. Would I be correct in assuming the pin could be replaced but it would require a complete disassembly of the knife? I thought you may have bought it new and with as many knives as you have I doubt it would have been wor...

Re: Side to Side Blade Movement on Custom LB when closed
The first thought that comes to my mind is it may be a worn pivot pin, or an undersized pivot pin. The knife doesn't look as though it's been used enough to have a worn pivot pin, but that's difficult to tell from the pictures.

Re: Requesting prayer for my father and the family.
I want to thank you all for your prayers for my Dad and my family. My Dad left this life this morning about 4:30, and joined my Mother with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is no longer in suffering, and that is a blessing and a mercy.
Thanks again for your prayers.
Dale

Outstanding work Glenn!
Amber bone is probably my favorite color of bone, and the jigging patterns add a great deal to it also. Nice choice in jigging pattern as well as the color! But those things together without standing craftsmanship and it's a definite winner!

Re: Prayers needed for cancer
I will keep her in my prayers. Do you have a first name for her, so our prayers can be more personal? My wife is going through this same thing right now. She is in her third year of treatment and on chemotherapy. She has turned out to be quite a fighter, and I think that's what someone going through...

Re: Looking for a pivot that is 0.235" diameter
That's is .015" under 1/4". I would find a 1/4" dia nail or steel rod, which should be available at your local hardware store, and put a length of it in my drill press and use a file or sandpaper to take the .250 steel rod down to .235". Actually it's a pretty easy fix.

Re: Requesting prayer for my father and the family.
Thank you guys for all your prayers. My brother and sister-in-law were down to see him today and one of my sisters and her husband was there also. The general consensus is it will be sooner rather than later that he will pass. I was able to talk to him on the phone briefly this afternoon, but I coul...

Requesting prayer for my father and the family.
First I want to thank all of you guys for your prayers for my Mom before she passed April 30, 2022. Mom and Dad had been married almost 73 years when she passed and nobody in the family thought Dad would live more than a couple of months without Mom. Dad turned 94 this December and he has been going...

Re: Ornithology (Bird) Thread
I've had a bird coming to feed for the last week or so but I have been unable to get a picture of it. It's very skittish and even the juncos seem to scare it away. I was finally able to get a picture of it today. I believe it's a western meadowlark, Oregon's state bird. Dale, I think you have a Var...

Re: Questions about Schrade Folding Hunters
I concur with Eric, I've never seen a 225H with a lanyard tube. Also, if I might suggest, taper the pivot pin holes in the bolsters so that the pin head will swell and lock the pin into place. This will keep the pin from traveling from side to side, or even coming out. It doesn't take a lot, just a ...

Re: Modern SLINGSHOTS ... who knew ---->
Looks like fun! I don't have anywhere in my house to shoot them, but I do have some squirrels in my backyard. Where did you get the clay pellets to shoot? The squirrels around here have really been annoying lately, so I bought a cheap copy of a wrist rocket at Harbor Freight. I used to make slingsho...

Re: So ya want to repair switchblades?
Superglue is a knife mechanics best friend, though I relarely use it on a knife. Mostly I use it to glue my cuts closed. If it is a gaping cut I use steri-strips to close the wound, then I use the superglue. Saves many trips to the doc for sutures.

There is no substitute for a well placed shot. It doesn't matter how big or how small the bullet is if it doesn't hit a vital spot!

Re: Taking Apart A Slip Joint
You mentioned slip joints but also lock backs, typically the spring in a slip joint runs the full length of the knife and is anchored at the end with a through pin, unless there is a blade on both ends, then they are anchored by the center pin only. The fix on a slip joint is different than a lock b...
